World Cup Bets Empty
PostSubject: World Cup Bets   World Cup Bets EmptyWed Jun 11, 2014 9:58 pm

I decided some time ago to have a wee flutter on the WC. My chosen criterion was to back the first team that I completed in my Panini sticker album. As it happened I completed 3 teams on the same day in this order:

1. France
2. Mexico
3. Colombia

I completed another team the next day:

4. Italy

Now it strikes me as though all of these might well be reasonable outside bets akin to "each way" on the nags.

So what would the equivalent WC bet be?

Or would I have to do each to qualify from their group?

I think the market is a bit crowded out by Brazil as far as winning goes. Nobody is going to stop them, are they? But I can't imagine that the odds are very attractive.

France 20/1
Mexico 150/1
Colombia 20/1

Italy 25/1

Brazil 3/1

Each way bets pay half the odds if the team finish 1st or 2nd(winner or runner-up)

These odds are from my BETFRED coupon, Other bookies odds will vary but be similar.

Placed all my bets yesterday and successfully hid all the reciepts from 'er indoors  Suspect

I was listening to radio 4 yesterday driving up the motorway and they had a bloke from bet Fred on, he was saying that they don't take any risk themselves at all but match punters up with each other in a form of hedging I guess? Hard to work out where there profit comes from though?

I have it on good authority that they make a good bit of money from the roulette type fruit machine thingy's in their betting shops. Some people seem seriously addicted to them and spend hundreds of pounds on them, according to the lad in my local betfred one bloke lost nearly 2 grand in a week on them  affraid

England have gone from 33/1 to 28/1 to win the WC   Razz
