| I think somebody within the green taverners is up to their neck in this as a friendly and concilliatory gesture to an old mate, but nobody will own up to it. It is naive to think that the likes of Wrathall and Stapleton don't have any friends, and the whole episode is a very good example as to how split the fanbase is. I never believed Lenszner's " I won't be on their Christmas card list" comment. |

The more I hear the more I want to dig! As these the same people who kept asking the staff to go months without money or the club will die, Use the money angle while the club is still in dire straits? I'm sorry but this whole episode stinks, Any Sponsor of a match or whatever would be mad to bring in someone of a previous regime that brought the club to its knees. Even if the Sponsor didn't know at the time and found out after all this, If i were them id ask questions who actually invited him in the first place!! |

| Somebody invited him GG... or are you saying he stowed away in the boot of a car ? It would be nice if the gentleman concerned had the courage to admit it. |

| I suppose Wrathall could of just rocked up uninvited........no, of course he didn't.
The sponsor didn't know he had been invited. Fine. He was as surprised as anyone apparently.
So surprised, that Wrathall clearly wasn't stopped from going onto the pitch as part of the guard of honour thing.
I imagine Wrathall didn't arrive at 2.55 and just go straight out onto the pitch. One imagines he enjoyed the pre match stadium tour, meal etc. And still, the sponsor didn't recognise him and suggest it might be an idea to keep a low profile? Did the sponsor even know who he was? |

| Ahh .... so GG's definition of a mistake:- Invite an ex owner, and see how the fanbase react. If there is not too much concern, everyone is a winner, everyone is happy. If there is too much concern, back down for the time being and just just don't admit it. Sounds like someone should try another mistake in 3 months time, and see if the mood has changed by then. It must be a real problem for some of the Back of the Grandstand gang to have this inconvenient problem that keeps getting in the way of eveyone having a jolly good feed. |

Mine too. Who made the mistake then? And as for guest of a guest... Begs the question what sort of guests are you inviting? Erm.. I guess that answers itself. |

| Mr Newell is so sick on PASOTI with the stick the sponsor is getting over this, that he's compelled to to everyone what an all round good egg and Argyle fan he is, and has added a link to the Devon Furniture Company website, telling everyone what a fantastic job they did with his kitchen! So thats the end of it. |

So if we are to believe what we've been told, Wrathal leaped over the fence at the back of the Mayflower whilst incognito, had a cloaking device to bypass the stewards and pretended to be a ball boy to gain entry to the pitch!............................And it's alllllll just coincidental that days before Chris wanted to invite him as a guest and Ian Newell declared that all was well Wrathal, he was was just unlucky and he didn't really mean to screw the club. It has nothing to do with the GT's and that Ian coincidentally has a kitchen fitted by said sponsor!
I can't wait for Santa to come!

| In such scenarios there is no such thing as good publicity ... I will certainly be avoiding them.
Let's have a quick think here. When Ridsdale was charged with sorting the problem, he would have had an end game scenario asked of him, that is, after the sale, could he also please find a way to help the rehabilitation of the local offenders, the mastpoint and japanese not being interested. And indeed, an agreed sequence of events might well have had a little value even when negotiating the sale itself. It could be construed as naive to assume that there wasn't some loose thoughts left behind in his wake as to how this could be achieved and the people that might be willing to help. That the green taverners are well known to these sponsors makes me smile. I'm rarely wrong when my nose twitches, and the outright fools mistake has been quite a fashionable public relations tool over the last few years, even with the national government. |

| I've only just read through posts on here and pasoti about this.
In my mind, despite raising a lot of money, who exactly are the Green Taverners? We see the usual suspects at Fansfests and posting on pasoti but there do seem to be links to the M7. Lensner, who I'm sure IJN and others had a big row about Stapleton at a game a couple of seasons ago (Lensner being in support of the Mullet), is ex board member and mate of Stapleton- he's now seen as a great bloke, some of the GT's obviously have links/ contact with Wrathall who is another mate of Stapes. Now this incident where IJN states on Pasoti that the owner of Devon Pine regularly drinks with them at Fansfests and the company is a partner of the GTs. Sorry I'm rambling a bit, but I'm sure Poirot could sort this out.
No-one seems to know how Wrathall got in and its all 'secret society'. All very odd.

| It's the local small businessmen trying to put it all behind them, Ali. They would, as there's business to be done.. any residual animosity to the likes of Wrathall is counter productive to business, the feel good factor and a good nosh. Have you seen the size of some of these guys ... if they haven't any medical conditions, they seriously need some dietry advice or counselling. |

| Actually Gob, looking at that Pasoti thread, it really is getting embarrasing... trousers are so obviously around the ankles, yet the likes of Ian Newell refuse to accept it. You'll like this Gob .... yesterday, Jeremy Vine was chatting to some North Korean expert or other re their main man dying and the outpouring of grief. His thoughts were the more you humiliate people, the more you get them to repeat a mantra of something that is plainly preposterous, like being the best ping pong player in the world, the more they will all lose their self esteem and cow tow. It is important to really be preposterous to effect the humiliation.
I'm sure that's what the New Pasoti Order is all about. Just tell them green is blue, and keep banging it home. Eventually they'll love you for it. |

they got some nice gear though ........ Who? Devon Furniture Company, the Southwests leading pine kitchen specialists. Devon Furniture Company a local firm who support local club Plymouth Argyle. Thats why you always find me in the kitchen, as long as it's a Devon Furniture Company kitchen, at parties. I'm apalled by what happened on Saturday and was only able to calm down when I sat in my kitchen, supplied by Devon Furniture Company, expertly installed by local knowledgable craftsmen who all support Plymouth Argyle. It was downright silly of Devon Furniture Company where the January Sale starts Boxing Day, but the owner won't be there because he'll be watching Argyle at Bristol Rovers, to invite an ex-director, but it was the good ex-director who isn't really to blame for the downfall of Plymouth Argyle who attended as a guest of Devon Furniture Company, where it's buy now pay in 2013 and interest free credit, when they generously sponsored an Argyle match last week. So in summary, if anyone wants a new pine kitchen, I can't recommend Devon Furniture Company highly enough. FORZA VERDE 1886, brought to you by Devon Furniture Company, where every self respecting Plymouth Argyle Praaaaaaaaaper Fan, should be heading this Bank Holiday weekend, the day after Boxing Day or send the Missus while you're watching Argyle. |

| The thing is, you can just see 20 people clicking on the Devon Furniture Company website link right now, spending the money they saved by switching to Aviva car insurance.
Devon Furniture Company, the people who replaced the boardroom door I ripped off it's hinges single-handedly when saving the club from certain death. |

| I always liked the cut of Tynan's Jockstrap .... if I can say that. Unabashed advertising of their mates by the New Pasoti Order is racing ahead, so why not advertise ATD as well ... we're not an illegal organisation, we're not even an organisation who invited Tony Wrathall to up his profile at Home Park ... just a bunch of fellow fans. |
