| I think Pompey have overshot their budget AGAIN this season. Could be looking at a third admin unless they make drastic cuts next season imo. I think it's far from beyond the realms that they could have another season just like this one. |

| I don't recall what the figure was but the Pompey budget for this season was sub-£1m.
With similar projections going forward.
They'll struggle a while yet. |

| Portsmouth were the bookies favourites to go up this season (along with Bristol Rovers), the bookies got that wrong then.
I think Portsmouth will struggle again next season, and beyond that too I add.. |

| Football club owners are like most of the highly paid heads of industry in this country on the whole, irresponsible, headstrong, ill advised and not fit for purpose. It's the fans of the clubs that have to pick up the pieces after the ego trip has gone tits up. |

| Pompey will never finish this low down the football pyramid again. I'd be very surprised if they aren't promoted next season and then begin to steadily rise through the leagues back to a regular mid-table Championship club, Their natural level IMO. |

If success were based purely on natural level I'd agree with you. But if success were based purely on natural level we would be too. Have you looked at the links SFD posted? To me they look pretty screwed for the foreseeable unless they can seriously sort their finances and debts out. |

| Looking at the comments under that article they started the season on a £1.2m player budget representing 27% of income.
Pompey still have a transfer embargo so they can only sign free agents.
So presumably they could go to £2.4m before hitting 55%.
If they can afford it.
I don't doubt that they'll rise again but I don't think it'll be soon. |

This article would suggest that Pompey's playing budget will be superior to ours......as will SB Frankfurt's Guardian - Pompey |
