I know that we could have hit a patch of form and got into the playoffs by winning a couple of games at the right time but I am glad in a way that it's all over now. If we had reached the playoffs odds are that we would have been the worst team in it. If we had again managed to hit form for those few games and squeaked through to league 1 I think it would have been a disaster, Brent would be convinced that we had a decent team and we would have muddled along until we were relegated again. As has been mentioned before momentum is everything and we don't have any apart from fits and starts. The sooner we go back to the drawing board, start to cut the deadwood out again the better. We need to keep Reid (at 20 goals we'd be mad not to) but we need a Kitson, a proper decent player to carry the whole team up the league, into league 1 and when we're there to keep the momentum going.
Anything but automatics next year will be a failiure, demand to be better.

Unfortunately, Reuben's goals will have alerted others. His wage demands might put him beyond our reach.

The play-offs would have brought some extra revenue in....and a trip to Wembley would have certainly helped to erase the money owing after administration.

But Sheridan at times seems to go into his shell....when he should be making major decisions to change the game........his reactions yesterday seemed to be pointless at that stage of the game....losing 1-0 and down to ten men.....far far too late.

Oxford must literally have been bottom of the form league...yet they looked positive and promotion chasing.....how did we manage to make them look so so good ?

Because despite the rumours we don't have a decent squad, we have a decent team IF everybody has a good game, lack of quality innit?

And because Kitson completely bossed the whole game. Early in the game I told my friend he would score and he did.

nominal 4-4-2 with lewi just behind reid, players picked and playing as full backs and wingers, we need just one player, a new skipper, holding midfielder, an old pro - someone with 'bite' someone like Brown at Leeds?
maybe a right winger but the rest is there, Conor alongside Brown would do the job. Mr Brent, why not shell out 300kish and get out of this awful league. The payback would be guarenteed.

we aint going up next season ! nothing is going to change we'll be the same as this season, the occasional good run and plenty of crap defeats.

whole club from top to bottom isn't good enough to challenge in the 4th division  Embarassed

One can't disagree with you on the above.

The playing budget may be much less for next season, for example.

Any number of reasons can (and will evolve) happen between now and the end of the 2014-15 season.

One thing that stood out yesterday was the whole approach of the two teams. Every time there was a doubt about a decision all of their players shouted "our ball!" and none of ours did. As a result they got decisions that they might not have.

I couldn't help but think back to Luggy's team in this division. Their entire approach was to contest absolutely everything. Trigger, Friio, Wottsy, Coughlan, Hodges, Keith... All of them great competitors. Winners.

We don't have anything like that winning mentality in our team and yesterday Oxford had it in spades.

I do agree the problem starts from the top down are captain goes up to the ref and asks " Listen up old chap what was that foul all about as he lights his pipe." ref replies "go away" our captain replies " Ok gov sorry to bother you" .were as before he would of had a crowd of screaming angry players playing merry hell for the smallest of fouls. fortress hp as it was once known.

the problem is our current captain has never been a strong leader like wottsy was and that lack of confidence flows down to the other team members.

LEAD FROM THE FRONT AND OTHERS WILL FOLLOW
