| I must say that I am surprised that any pub that POI inhabits would win anything like this! _______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife! Oi!! I'll have you know that I frequent or have frequented many of Plymouth's finest drinking establishments, i.e The Arlbemarle, The Royal Marine, The Bluebird, Lion and Column etc. All currently or in the past have been bastions of drinking friendly watering holes in our fine city. I escaped with my life everytime. Mind you, I met 'Seadog' for a pint before the E*eter game in the Fortescue. He wanted to fight everyone. Once a salty old pirate and all that. Arghhhh. |

| No surprise whatsoever. A pub for all sorts, with excellent product. Is it so hard? |

| Fifty percent of new publicans decide that the best thing to do with a pub is turn it into your grans front room with high powered lighting and no dinghy corners, good food, good beer and a friendly face behind the bar is all you need. |

It is. On a monthly basis it does a curry night with excellent discounts. It shows big footy games for free with sometimes a free pint or pasty chucked in. On Mondays, or is it Thursdays? is the 'Acoustic Lounge' - bring your triangle or Recorder and play Kum ba Yah all night long to an appreciative audience. Try before you buy on the real ales (I never got the 'real ales' thing - as opposed to what? fake ales?) dogs, (the furry variety), riots, drugs, darts and best of all, there's Goodbodies mega breakfasts as you fall out of the door and cross the road. The Fortescue. A good old fashioned British spit and sawdust, up yer arse, what you looking at guvnor, cor blimey, do what, leave it aaaaaaaattttt, pub. On certain nights, it does bingo as well. |

There's not many Tory toffs in the Fortescue. To them, The Fortescue will resemble ATD - full of freaks and wierdo's! |
