| If Campbell was white and wore chinos, he might have got to play for Exeter.
That makes the glass half full surely. |

| Always thought it weird that he was never a captaincy contender. But then, he wasn't captain at Arsenal either was he?
Strange, not racist.
Necessarily.
He was a fookin good player. Be the first name on the teamsheet if he was around today. |

| The words I would use to describe him would not be permissable even on ATD! |

| Listening to the Monday Night Club on 5Live, some interesting debate. For once Claridge is bang on the money.
It's just poor me, woe is me. Sol Campbell was a top class defender but he just didn't have the attributes to be captain of England.
Kinda funny to note that Henry, and Viera were captains at Arsenal during Campbells time there. |

| Who captained England when he was playing?
I seem to remember it was Stuart Pearce for years and who was going to take the armband off him? |

| Platt, Adams, Shearer, Ince and Pearce were the England captains during Campbell's international career. Now if i'm not mistaken, Ince isn't white Sol. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26383249 |

| The truth is he just wasn't good enough to be an England Captain.
Campbell, feck off back under your stone and take ince with you! _______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife! (A true GSG Girl) PepsiPete Forecasting League Champion 2016-17 He was behind me at Charlton! Now an officially semi retired old fart! |

| Too sulky and introverted to be captain. Great player though |

| You can't comment on captaincy issues without seeing a set group of players together, on the field, in the dressing room, behind the scenes, home and away.
Leaders invariably emerge. You don't always see it on the pitch but the subtleties are always there.
Campbell was a shy man, quite introverted. Nothing wrong with that but he would hardly have been an obvious choice. It takes more than just heing good at heading a ball. |

| I listened to his interveiw on 5 live. Incredibly arrogant man, not captaincy material. |

| Best centre half in the world, in his humble opinion. I think Messrs Nesta, Cannavaro and Puyol may have something to say about that... |

Not even close to the best, black cenner half at Spurs, I would take Ledley with one leg any time. |
