| Does anyone over the age of 5 actually like fish fingers?
They're shit, bland and I'd imagine not particularly nutritious. |

| I had fishfingers in a nice posh restaurant last Friday. £9 for 2. They were lovely though with some tartare sauce. |

If you're lucky there may be a small amount of tasteless white fish, something like pollack. Or "Alaskan Pollack" as they call it, to make it sound more exotic. |

| One of my favourite fish when it's fresh is mackerel. When it's not fresh it's bloody awful - more so than other fish.
Pollack is good but not as good as whiting and that's not as good as cod.
For a few years I lived a virtually vegetarian diet (sneaked the odd pork pie or pastie). I didn't miss meat at all. But I craved fish..... |

| Hmmm, I find pollack really bland, even freshly caught. It's plentiful, but there's a reason you don't see it on the menus of your average chippy. However, minced up with mash and mackerel to give it a more 'fishy' taste, it is ideal for fresh homemade fishcakes.
