| If it was possible to eventually build a 20,000 Demport stand that wouldn't be the end of the world.
I can remember the old Charlton Valley ground before the new development and before they abandoned it and used Palace's Selhurst Park ground for a few years.
The huge bank opposite the mainstand was vast...some say between 30/40 thousand could use it and in the late 1940's and 1950 it was well used, an incredible intimidating factor I'm sure.
It is obvious that Brent is cutting his cloth to fit the present situation and with the complete HHP package he feels he can build a grandstand as part of that package at the lowest cost to PAFC.
My biggest gripe at present is that he has balanced the books by lending HIS CLUB money instead of writing off these short falls against his own pocket.
Brent has always said that PAFC needs to stand on it's own two feet and he will not just bankroll whatever is required.....and after administration I cannot argue against that principle.
But to expect HIS club PAFC to pay him back looks rather scrooge like and ridiculous. |

| The only problem with that Zyph is the Devonport would then dwarf the so called Grandstand. Would the Devonport then become the Grandstand? The Grandstand should be the biggest, most imposing stand in the ground and give a focal point for anyone visiting the place. |

That is true Yea Man.....but if it means getting a bigger ground capacity....that otherwise wouldn't happen with the Grandstand that is presently proposed.... so be it. I tell you what..... a great view from the Grandstand to look across at that being full....(some hope at the moment). |

| I reckon that if you were actually privy to the accounts you would find that there is ample money in the HHP development to build us an adequate stand, unfortunately Speccy is not in this project for Argyles benefit but his own. A few of us wiser posters mentioned that something was afoot with the capacity when he closed the Lyndy blocks and lower Mayflower, he reckoned we wouldnt notice. He treats us like fools then we get fans to ask us to not call him speccy because its disrespectful, eh Mr. powell? The loans to the club piss me off as well Zyphe, the club belongs to Speccy and his wife alone when it comes to profit sharing and pension pots yet when there is a liability it falls to the fans to pay up. He's a FOOKIN charlatan. |

If brents plan goes through, a stadium with probably less than seventeen thousand will be it forever at homepark! exactly can you imagine arsenal at home in the cup 4000 away fans meaning 13.k argyle fans that's only a few short of the legendary 11k v Norwich before hollowhead left |

Worth bringig up that any development of the grandstand would be restricted by height as the people of peverell want there seas views over somewhere not congested by traffic dont forget. |

| A well decent REAL two tiered stand can be fitted into the existing height, no problem, and then slope away to the roof line of the existing Barn Park stand. That wouldn't be a planning problem. |

I like some things he has done, though disagree with others. I feel strongly about Wrathall returning, it's morally wrong and concerning on a business front. The way the whole thing has been handled does make me question Brent. |
