| This was always a popular thread on Euuuuuuuweb so I will start it off and see what if.
Saving Mr. Banks
Didn't think it would really be my kind of thing but I must admit to having found it surprisingly engaging, well acted with two stories which came together with a bit of tear jerky finale. Not a big fan of Hanks or Thompson but it worked for me. |

| Pacific Rim. It was very loud indeed and the CGI was impressive but it really left me cold - there's literally no actual plot and the characters are absolutely one dimensional. It's a stinker of a film.
Prior to that, I watched the Alan Partridge film Papa Alpha, it's fantastic and had me in tears throughout - truly magnificent. |

| At the pictures: the original Mary Poppins (treat for small people). Had to leave before the end as the (then) five year old got bored and threatened to charge round the place.
On the telly (DVD actually) a re-watch of Oh Brother Where Art Thou the other night, inspired by the regular trails for a 6 Music special about the music in the Coen Brothers films. I'd forgotten how good it is.
Wanted to see The Butler at the pictures, but the new hobbit film came out and wiped it before I could get there. Will have to wait for the DVD. |

| "Alien" on BluRay last night.
Now in its 35th year and it still holds you in.
Lots of good mountaineering programmes on BBC4 last night too, so will probably go for "Touching The Void" this evening. |

Did you spot the bloopers in War Horse, Gobbers? There's a millionaires 'eco house on the side of Burrator village with the slopping glass roof etc. I spooted it several times in various scenes. Only a thing a local would spot I suppose. Great film though - it had me blubbing! |

| I bought a 3D TV at the weekend so watched Pacific Rim- good effects but predictable.

| Gravity.
OMG! WTF is all the fuss about?
An hour and twenty six minutes of nuthin much, no kind of story line beyond the bleedin obvious, Clooney being annoying, the basic premise being slung at you with not so much as bijoux preamble, Bullock being Bullock but in space and nowt beyond a constant serious of fairly tenuous hazards. I'd give it 4/10 for the effects. |

| 12 years a slave is harrowing. Shows unbelievable inhumanity. Watch through the fingers stuff. What a film though. Sad that aspects of slavery carry on today even in this country. |

His film, "Hunger" is also a superb & harrowing piece of cinema. |

| The Bourne Legacy.
Some people didn't take to this one due to the absence of the boy Damon, me, I think it is a decent, fast action, mindless way to pack off a couple of hours which in no way diminishes the Trilogy. |

| Just watched the latest Danny 'the doughnut' Dyer offering 'Vendetta'
A reasonable if slightly predictable and at times gory revenge thriller.
I'd only recommend it to lovers of 'Dyeresque' type films.
To anyone else i'd have to say.......leave it you slaaaaaags !!!!!!!
