Lump On Empty
PostSubject: Lump On   Lump On EmptyTue Jan 07, 2014 10:37 pm

Said from August that we were a couple of players away from having a good squad in an awful league. Lavery and Banton were those missing players...

With no team really setting the league alight, why cant we get into the playoffs if not top 3? This league is woeful, at home we should really be beating pretty much everyone.

Im never, ever optimistic when it comes to supporting Argyle but tomorrow ill be paying a little visit to Billy Hill's to put a few quid on us going up, anyone else feeling this?

Best price 14-1 for promotion, also 14-1 on Reid to be the top scorer

It's looking very very good. Could even be automatic. My mate who is a Southampton supporter and a bit of a rainman type of autistic told me Argyle would finish 3rd.

Ha, fools. Lavery will be gone by the end of January; the goals will dry up for Reid and we'll go back to looking like a tepid bunch of journeyman shitters.

we need more than just banton, another left back and possibly cover at right back too. OH and lavery on a longer deal or another striker like him

THEN

play offs are big possibility.

If we can get Lavery until the end of the season then we'll be there or there abouts. Didnt him and Banton play together at Leicester?

He was carrying an injury at the start of the season before he went off to have surgery on it but he is someone who can score goals so if he can get fit he will be a useful guy.

We wont go up, it just does not fit in within the bigger picture of JB and his evil empire building.

if we are in and around the play off picture at the end of the season that would be a fantastic building block for sheridan to build from and he will probably find attracting players here alot easier now Argyle rememberd its a football club not a freemasons lodge

Did anyone get on it?! Looking increasingly likely that it could actually come in….

I got a little greedy at the time & went with;

Liverpool for top four
Argyle for top 7
Leyton Orient for top 6
Forest for top 6
Bayern to win Champions league

£10 will hopefully give me £1008!

At the moment Forest are the team that look most like letting me down!!

I reckon Bayern will let you down. Yes, they are a great side but Arsenal took them apart and missed a penalty before their keeper was sent off.

Bayern are romping the Bundesliga and that's the problem, they just play "practice" matches as they are so far ahead of the others. They have no real competition week in week out (even Dortmund are not up to it - plus of course Bayern buy their best players).

After watching lot's of European matches this season i'm going to have to disagree. The only team that will push them close is Real Madrid but even then i think Bayern will dismantle them. I think they're probably the best team i've seen in my lifetime. I just can't see where they're weak. They seem to be good at everything..

Agreed with the Arsenal comment. For the first 10 or so minutes Arsenal did surprisingly dominate them. Probably because they went at them and didn't let them control the tempo as they're so used to doing. If that bet comes in i'll be a very happy bunny. Off to Uni in september & could do with a nice little liner of the bank account!

Either way I wish you luck (I'll put up with all the Bayern plastics if you win your bet).
