| Seems The Mirror is going to town on her today.
link 1 Maggie had troops on standby for strikes)
maggie had 118 hairdo's in a year
Maggie refused to mention mandela to PW Botha
There are more stories on there but this should be enough for now the hairdo one is shocking 118 of them and none looked good |

| Magaret Thatcher first came to my notice when she was Secretary for State in Ted Heaths government....my daughter hadn't been long at school when she stopped school milk.
That really made her a marked women for anyone who didn't vote Tory and she certainly didn't bother about the non-Tory voters in the whole of her political career...a divisive person.
The Belgrano sinking didn't adhere her to many either. |

| I for one, do not understand the problem with using force to suppress militant unions, unions who were doing more harm than good, using rolling pickets to close down workplaces that weren't even their own. During the Heath gov, there were black outs and rations because of Union strikes, escalated under Thatcher.
Michael Gove, do step up and get the military ready for these bloody selfish annoying teaching unions |

The mirror are on overtime, was it the slags birthday today or something? 30 year release of "secret" cabinet papers including one which shows there was hit list of 75 mines to be closed when publicly it was 20. |

| Yes but weren't a lot of those mines due for closure anyway and not a part of the number? |

| Overall though, it's not cheaper for UK PLC, is it. The country has hemorrhaged money ever since her nonsense. The madness of imported coal means even more profit for the private ludicrously profitable electricity generating companies, while landing so many miners, their families, and communities on permanent state aid ever since. What was a working age public aid budget of some 1.5 million souls in the 1970s before her intervention, has ballooned to 5million ever since. And that's before we count the cost of the demise of so called "one nation" politics since the WW2. Great work Maggie. God bless the service economy and the city ...ha ha. Major and Blair carried on the Thatcherite/Reaganomics and we have what we have now. Cheers lads.
Listened to Lawson and Kinnock this morning on radio 4 talking of the released papers, 1984 and the miners' strike. What a liar she was it seems.
Troops are always kept as the last bastion of the establishment. It's come close recently, especially during the riots. Very close. It'll happen sooner or later, like it always has. |

Interesting that anyone who holds a different and probably more rounded view of an issue than Rab must necessarily be "thick as pigshit" One simple fact, more pits closed under Labour administrations then Tory, all this frothing at the mouth is disingenuous frou frou from a rabble generally lacking in erudition. Thatcher set the country on a course that took us from third world status to becoming a genuine economic power house, then she let the Tory Grandees drag us into the Euro game, the EMS was a far bigger disaster than closing fewer pits than Wilson. Major, Bliar the baby killer and Brown fecked the good things she had started then built assiduously on many of the bad. I'm no big fan, but she was certainly no worse than the other jerk offs I have mentioned, just for some reason so many feck'tards seem to have elevated her to the status anyone with a clue might reserve for the likes of Hitler, Stalin or Pol Pot. The miners with that tw@ Scargill did not have a mandate to run the fecking country, they needed showing and they got schooled, thank feck someone had the balls to stand up to the bully same as she showed in the Falklands, some fecking backbone. Blocks to the Belgrano, we should have hit every single Argy military base within 500 miles of the coast with cruise missiles. |

| Arthur scargill and his sooty pals thought they could hold the country to ransom. ma thatch made them think otherwise. scargill was on a massive ego trip and destroyed the union and the coal industry. |

| I was too young to really understand what was happening. All I really remember where the blackouts and bins not being emptied. Lots of violence against the police and those who crossed the picket line, families being split etc.
Was Scargill still being paid throughout the strikes?
Then of course there was Red Robbo and others.
Looking back, I think that the unions went too far, as did Thatcher.
Have we learned anything from it all? |

Scargill made a fortune from it, recently released Kremlin files revealed a large amount of money intended to support the NUM, not so much of which actually finished up helping strikers. It was a political strike which had little or nothing to do with improving the lives of miners, it was called despite there being no ballot, Scargill was personally fined for that, oddly his fine was paid by an anonymous supporter. Just another case of violent, left wing fascists masquerading as "men of the people", the biggest bunch of hypocrites on the planet. |

The mirror are on overtime, was it the slags birthday today or something? Politician was less than forthcoming with the whole truth shock.Ever read the Clark diaries? Thatcher's ability to keep a straight face when telling untruths is glorified by the ex MP for Plymouth Sutton in the said publication, especially when she was stitching up Leon Brittan for his part in the Westland affair. And to balance things up politically, the Crossman diaries do little to contradict Harold Wilson's reputation for, shall we say, scheming and sharp practice.Birds of the same feather when all's said and done-didn't some psychologist once state that there is no basic difference between the psyche and characters of top politicans, top businessmen and top criminals? Probably true,i gave up believing a word that any of them said years ago. |

Trade unions have done many good things safe work environment and condition at work all good and dandy. In the 70s and 80s the difference between TU and management fecked our heavy industry up by not being constructive in how to move on in a quick moving economic environment |

And as for the "owners", guess what, there still has been little comparative manufacturing investment in this country, despite the Unions being emasculated 20 years ago and a compliant educated workforce ripe for the plucking. Then it was the lazy workers, now it's the lazy non-workers. Tomorrow it will be the lazy retired. God bless the establishment and their media.
