I have to say while all the other bullshit that's going on. This manager has got the team playing.

They look to play good football on the ground and fully deserved the 3 points today.

Ok Torquay are rubbish but you can only beat what's in front of you.

Some momentum building now you feel

The power of a decent loan signing. This division is so crap the transfer system and coaching is being made largely irrelevant in favour of who you can find on loan.

The lad on loan from Sheffield Wednesday ( I think ) was the best player on the pitch. But I actually think argyle performed well all over the pitch.

In fact the 2nd goal was a very well worked team goal and that came about after the lad on loan had gone off.

I have to agree they played well. But they were equally as bad for most of the game at Wimbledon albeit they got an undeserved draw.

I think the faith I had in Sheridan to make a presidents purse of a sow ears was correct despite some wobbly moments. Still concerned it sometimes looks like throwing loanee after loanee at the problem until he gets the right answer.

I think the dividend is gained by having players playing at a level below themselves. McCormick, Lavery and now Reid being good examples. It was the basis of Luggy's success and could work again.

This league continues to be so so awful and even the best teams being only mediocre that getting out of it shouldn't beyond the wit, tactical nouse, luck and cheque book of a board that wants to go for it.

Very good point Dougie and almost certainly what's going on. Sturrock had Evans and Couglan and McCormick almost right from the beginning, and found a way to bring down Norris even though we didn't have any money. The trick is getting these players and then keeping them. What percentage of loanees have Argyle gone on to sign on a permanent basis ?
Also, am I right in saying Sturrock 1st didn't like the idea of loanees at all and tried to avoid them like the plague. Sturrock 2nd was always in the loan market and we all know what happened then.
Heaven forbid that fans should put pressure on a club to contract successful loanees properly. Wouldn't want to upset the philanthropic Jimmy.
