"Jon B" on PASOTI wrote:
Having taken a somewhat enforced sabbatical from a lot of my Argyle related life in recent months (including the posting/viewing of the web sites), it deeply saddens me to read this thread.

It saddens me for a number of reasons & this sadness has only added to a wider sense of depression that has been brought about by PASB-related contact with a certain & eclectic cohort of Argyle 'supporters'.

It is a truism that we don't know what we don't know & of course the level of our ignorance varies depending on who we are & what we do. I see myself as particularly ignorant.

Over the last year though, I have seen, read & experienced much behaviour that has shocked me.

Fans' groups taking 'secret' legal advice on whether or not to sue fellow fans, vileness & abuse being posted anonymously on internet sites by people holding/having held senior positions in fans' groups, the near-gleeful sharing of information believed to be a 'smoking gun' (it wasn't) that could de-rail the Home Park planning process, personal online spats being reported to national racism bodies in an attempt to get the club into trouble, etc, etc.

Shocking & foul.

What upsets me most are the more considered attempts to destabilise Plymouth Argyle & it's current ownership.

From what I see (& I don't know what I don't know), these attempts to damage our club are being undertaken by people with extensive personal agendas, be it close relationships with previous owners, be it having idealist socialist ideals, or be it having had involvement with potential alternative bids to James Brent's (whether from Walter Mitty types or not). I understand that the Herald had some interesting contact/phone calls from people terrified that their involvement in late-in-the-day & fanciful attempts to stop JB taking us out of administration would become public.....

I find it hugely distasteful that some of these may now post on web sites portraying themselves to be altruists.

Many of us are bound to be taken in by what these people write; "no smoke without fire" & all that. But what many of us don't know is that these are not isolated pieces of information recently discovered; the authors often know far, far more about both the current & previous custodians of Plymouth Argyle than us, but only post things that they think will cause problems.

It is important for my own integrity that I make mention again of my position - as I wrote on here (& in other places) way back during the PASB elections, I have a personal relationship/friendship with some of the senior people currently at Home Park & had a good working relationship with Mike Dunford (who I still respect greatly).

My firm view remains however that as long as you share common objectives & are open & honest, these type of relationships are for the good. Indeed at the highest level in our country, the best successes in corporate governance are where the scrutiniser gets on well with the scrutinee.

And to be clear, like many, many others, my objectives, as an erstwhile PASB member are (like James Brent's) to help stabilise the club & get it out of this bloody awful division.

I can assure you that membership of the PASB is largely a pain, but all of the good people on it (& Tony H is very much one of those) share these objectives & receives nothing - nothing - in return. For further clarity, I suspect that these two objectives are shared between those that run this website & those that are on the PASB for the good of the club.

It is a deep, deep shame however, that these objectives aren't the primary ones of some of our more active & high profile 'fans'.

As such, as an Argyle fan who (usually!) sits in the Lyndy with his young lad every game, this thread - & it's context and agenda - sickens me.

I've no idea.

It was on page 7 of the FES thread in Rumours.

I'd imagine the vileness being posted anonymously by people holding/having held senior positions in Fans' Groups was aimed at GreenMan.

Napoleon's in a festive frenzy, down on his farm  santa .

I think he actually believes his own deceptions and lies.  affraid

"No one believes more firmly than Comrade Napoleon that all animals are equal. He would be only too happy to let you make your decisions for yourselves. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then where should we be?"

Lutongreen has joined in the pisstaking!  lol!

Some very welcome comments and common sense from JonB. With the likes of him on the PASB and Chris Webb and John Newell close to JB I think the views of the fans are in safe hands.

The attempts to destabilize the club have to stop. Enough is enough.

As you're such a close friend of his, I'm sure he would tell you the truth. Just ignore what Czarky is suggesting - he's just being nasty.
