I took the family there last year thru a groupon offer. As long as you don't go there with huge expectations then I think it was fine for a half a day. I wouldn't be so keen to go in winter. We went on a day when it was glorious and there's a lovely area in front of the main house to throw a blanket down and have a picnic.

I'd go again next summer if groupon do another deal.

Its no San Diego Zoo i have to say but for what it is its not a bad little zoo and a nice little outing in the right weather aslong as you accept its no San Diego zoo.
