| Just picked up a 30inch Samsung TV for the bedroom (awaits smutty bedroom jokes)for £199. Was £350. No complaint here. Saying that, I don't think it was a Black Friday thang, just a sale on. |

| LG Asda, arghhhhhhhh - it doesn't surprise me at all. This is broken Britain after all. It staggers me. It reminds me when the London riots were happening; people were seen looting Toshiba TVs from PC World. Why do chavs genuinely have no idea about AV equipment? I'm not being a snob but other than Panasonic plasmas, the only other TV I'd consider would be a Sony LCD. There's an amazing 65" Sony in the window of their store in town - it's £3000 though.

| If you're into gaming/movies etc. in a big way and can't have a projector in your house, a £3k 65" TV isn't mental money. You can buy it over 2 years with monthly payments. Sky Sports is about £25-30 a month, going to the pub once a week is likely to cost you £50-100 a month, if you smoke, a packet of 20 is £8. Getting a takeaway for one is about £15. Going to Argyle is £21 a ticket. If having a big TV is part of your hobby, what's wrong with buying something like that? A family holiday overseas is likely to cost £3k. What I woukdn't do is buy something cheap and nasty as it's a false economy. There's a 40" TV in Tesco for £200 but it's rubbish - you're better to spend another £100-200 on a better product. LG really make bad TVs. And good luck with the Samsung POI, they're notoriously prone to having power issues - keep that receipt safe. |

One is two years old (UE46D8000) and has/is worked/working flawlessly, and the other which is 7 years old which is the one that I had in the Boudoir and has just given up the ghost, hence me buying this £199 Sammy from Currys as a replacement. So I guess I have been lucky, Hairy. At the time of buying the decent Sammy (UE46D8000) I couldn't afford the Panny I wanted - I will be next year though. |
