| I'm thinking something leftfield for my missus. Nothing that could potentially kill her as I've grown to become quite fond of her. No, a gift which will stick in the memory, will make her happy beyond belief and costs less than 500 smackers (this is the absolute top end that I can afford).
I was going to arrange a party for her but it's our 10th wedding anniversary in the same month and she's already said she'd prefer a party for that as it was our choice to get married and having a birthday isn't (clearly getting old). I'll still do something just not invite the world.
So let's be having it then. Ideas please. Best one gets their username in my signature for a 6 months with the strap line of;
When it comes to ATD, (username) is king/queen.
Cheers Dan
ps if you need any info about the missus fire away, but I won't be posting pictures or revealing bra size. |

| How about a free day, Prepare a slap up meal and do all the things that need to be done whilst she just puts her feet up. Beauty is it costs nothing, does not count if you leave a pile of dishes. |

| Who is her favourite actor/musician? You can normally contact them via twitter and send a card to their agent/publicist and get them to send it direct to your wife. - cost free

| A night out at the theatre, a slap up up meal and book a night in a decent room in a top hotel, to really show how much you love her !!! You should be able to do that for under 500 smackers, Chingers. PS: Get some flowers pre-delivered to the hotel room and a bottle of bubbly in a bucket so you can wow here as she walks in. She'll love you long time. |

| I was given an airplane flight a couple of years ago and it is amazing. You get to fly the plane yourself for a while and the views are stunning.
It cost about £100 and I gave the missus the same thing for a present and she loved it and wants to go up again next year. |

| Some good ideas there. Liking the idea of going to a favourite place and getting a painting. Might have to plan ahead and get the painting sorted so it doesn't look like I've done something last minute. Which I'll probably end up doing.
Birthday is in April.

| When I was 40 I was given a parachute jump. It wasn't a tandem jump - those are for wimps! It was sooooooooo good that I went back for another couple. On the other hand, a good friend bought his wife an Airfix kit of a Spitfire. She bought him three ducks flying across the wall. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]You choose. |

I can highly recommend a fantastic artist who paints amazing original modern artworks and she just happens to post on ATD Not sure if she does landscapes as well but she might be able to post the link to her artwork if you ask nicely. I had a beautiful piece painted that was totally unique and relevant for my girlfriend who adores it. |

| My mum's birthday is on Christmas Eve and tends to get a bit overshadowed, so one year I decided to push the boat out. I put together a day of things she loved to do but never had the time (and/or the money) for - stuff like having a pedicure, a nice lunch out, going to the pictures, taking her to a place she'd been saying she wanted to see - nothing huge, but all tailored to her. And I managed to keep it all secret, so after we'd done the first thing she thought she'd had her 'treat' and then found there was another one ... and another one ... Twenty-odd years later, she still talks about it. I think the trick isn't necessarily to spend a lot of money, or at least not on a single thing, but to do/get something she really wants to do/get but wouldn't do/get for herself. Innit. PS I don't get a lot of time to paint nowadays, but that's very sweet of you, Jock |
