| Does anyone else find this sort of shit rather sinister? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Roy Hodgson has apologised for any offence caused by his remarks and Andros Townsend has more than accepted that none was intended. In these circumstances, why can't common sense prevail and a busybody organisation such as the one in question let the matter drop? It was similar to when Hansen,in all innocence, referred to "coloured" players in a MOTD analysis and was made to issue a rather grovelling apology as a result.Frankly this issue has reached farcical proportions, but a farce which IMHO has serious implications for free speech, which has been a bedrock of democratic societies since the inception of democracy itself. There would seem to be a kind of reverse fascism involved in the thinking of these organisations, typified in the statement "mandatory 'race appreciation' training and 'cultural capital and cultural intelligence' training" should be given to Hodgson and all other football managers,a quasi 1984 piece of newspeak if ever there was one.Not remotely racist myself and i would be 99.9 % certain that Roy isn't either but frankly i think that the nonsensical tripe outpouring from people such as R for S does far more harm than good and gives the more loathsome elements in society ammunition for their own agendas. |

| I agree. Organisations like 'Race for Sport' finding racism where it clearly doesn't exist does no-one any favours. Problem is no-one will tell this organisation to stop being so stupid as everyone is scared stiff of also being accused by them. |

| It's just another indication of how PC mad this country has become, gone are the days when you could call a spade a spade. |

| Agree entirely with the O P.
The irony in all this is, the fuss that is being made about it will do more damage to the reputation of the organisation that is complaining.

| Just saw an interview with Troy Townsend, Andros Townsends dad. Troy is heavily involved in the KICK IT OUT campaign. Funnily enough, he isn't gunning for Hodgson like the other fella from Race For Sport.

Wtf would Townsend have to moan about? If you remember the joke it was the monkey who was key and the rest who were the dummies, so in fact Woy was admitting that the ten he wanted were shiite whereas the one he really didn't was the star, I am all for slinging the old scrote now and giving the job to Gary Neville. Associations of black lawyers, scuffers and music of black origin, that is where the real racism lies. |
