Oh it sure is Frank, as you quite rightly say. Also illegal is someone on the inside for a major UK ISP, leaking an IP address personal details to some cnut on another football forum.

What is obvioulsy not illegal is looking at public online accounts that aren't password protected but have material of a sensitive nature in them. That's just plain stupidity.

If it's not for financial gain, if it's not going to compromise sensitive information, if it's not going to cause an individual harm, it's highly unlikely that any legal action (other than civil action) would ever take place.
