| I was just sitting here wondering, after the Carl Fletcher disaster, at what point our esteemed chairman will decide enough is enough if we don't make the expected level of progress this season?
Is it going to be a last minute thing again? or a case of cutting the rope early enough to salvage something out of the season? |

| He won't pull the plug this season unless he can/has to sack Sheridan for gross misconduct.
Hanging around the bottom division with no large demands on the capacity would suit Brent whilst the works are ongoing. The belief is that he needs this development built and leased quickly so that he can dispose of the club before the final football creditors bill lands on his doorstep.
Sheridan isn't exactly doing a bad job. I quite like him. Having said that whilst there could always be more investment I do think he has the resources to produce a top 10 team so his job isn't exactly without expectations.
Two things point to him not being sacked for performances alone, maybe three.
1. He's got a two year contract. Can't see Brent paying out two salaries. 2. Brent likes to think he can buck the trend by not sacking managers, but supporting them 3. Who the bloody hell would we get in?
The team is good enough, even on a bad run, to get the odd result here and there. I would be surprised if we were in a relegation scrap again and therefore don't see Sheridan getting sacked and nor would I advocate it. |

| I doubt very much that Sheridan would have anything to worry about this season in terms of losing his job. A fair few Argyle fans will just be delighted if we're not involved in a relegation battle again and despite Saturday's shite I can't see that happening again.
Mid-table obscurity will be hailed as progress this time around and unless we do extremely poorly again next season any positions gained could I suppose be seen as further progress.
For me he should have this season to show real progress, like a top 12 finish, then be told that his aim next year is the play-offs at worst.
If there was a transparent owner who was willing to state the clubs budget instead of just calling it competetive then we could make better judgement on whether Sheridan is doing as good a job as the managers of some of the sides in this league with gates of 2000.
Eventually that's all it boils down to. What one manager can make of his budget compared to another and even with the 25% of our income going towards previous debt we still get crowds that should see us having one of the biggest budgets in this league. |

| What is the expected level? I would assume that as long as there is not another scare with relegation, then it will be declared an improvement. I also expect it to be declared a good season under those circumstances. Personally I think with the budget, basing it on percentage of gate receipts, being higher than most teams within the league we should really be looking for promotion but I can't see it |

| I think that Sheridan will leave long before he is pushed. Another club will come calling for him - maybe one of the big boys - Morecombe or Fleetwood, or possibly Burton or Mansfield. I cannot imagine Brent will sack anyone if it involves a contract pay out. |

Said it before and say it again, all Brent wants is for the club to keeps its head above the water till he has his 50M development. Sheridan is more then capable of retaining L2 status, no way on earth he will be sacked, his job is as safe as houses. |
