| I took two small people to the library yesterday. The smallest one found a book of nursery rhymes and, quite unbidden, the two of them launched into a rendition of Baa Baa Black Sheep. No embarrassment, just singing. Lovely |

| My boy's musical tastes are a bit more radical these days. I was playing The Clash's Sandinista album in the car. From the back came the demand "Daddy, play it louder!" It was at that point I truly discovered what parental pride was all about. |

| Since I first introduced them to the best film ever made - Muppets from Space - the older one's become a big funk fan. |

| Disaster only one banana in the fruit bowl and when we went to the co-op today all they had where green ones, that's bordering on criminal. |

| By amazing coincidence, Muppets From Space is on telly this afternoon. The whole country should sit down and watch it: it truly is the greatest film ever made.
Substantially warmer today. I'll put in a full days' work. |

| Readers' group today.
This time, both my mum and I have read the book, and have things to say.
I expect we'll both get a gold star. |

| What book are you reading? The second book for me in my group is "Slow Boats to China" by Gavin Young. We meet next Thursday and I'm half-way through it. |

| The Almond Blossom Appreciation Society by Chris Stewart. He was the drummer on Genesis' first album.
It's his third book about running a small farm in Spain with his wife. A bit episodic, and he assumes you've read the first two instalments, but a good read, nice and warming for this time of year. Good enough to make me get the first two out of the library, but then my mum found out and bagsied them first.
Got a feeling we're going to get something heavy this time ... |

| Ah! Someone recommended that one to me last week. I heard "Driving Over Lemons" (or whatever it's called) being read on the radio a few years ago. It was good.
before I joined my book group, someone's choice had been "The Great Crash" by J K Galbraith. A book about economics?! You want heavy? |

| Just stopping for lunch, would tweet it but that might cause trouble.
I have some very rare live DVD footage of Genesis, a la Pedro Gabriel, if anybody is interested. _______________________________________ COYG!

| Toured Okehampton town centre (@0915), everything was shut (apart from one bakery/ cafe). Forgot that the Kwop (they've got a big superstore one) was open too. |

| I've run out of milk and butter. Kwop is 50 yards from here. Might venture over there in a while, but got things to do here first. |

| Fly or Ferry?
Not much in it cost wise.
This is my current musing. |

This is my current musing. I got the ferry. Must admit I'd have flown if I knew it was an option. (Not entirely sure where the airport is in Torpoint, mind) |

| Have you noticed how relatively expensive the Irish Sea is to cross?
I need to get over to Northern Ireland in the next 48 hours, I can get a ferry from Liverpool which actually suits my timings better, for less than sleazy jet from Bristol! |

Where do you live? I think it's just flown over mine too. Just to add... ...Topically, I'd just like to make known my disappointment with Paignton Zoo. Hippo's are (quite comfortably) my favourite animal. I've been waiting since I was a small child for them to get a hippo. Unless I imagined it, one of my earliest memories of Plymouth Zoo was the hippopotamus wallowing in it's little enclosure.
