Just about Jock, been back in the hospital for a while but much, much better now. Thanks for the Birthday wishes, I got a home shirt, a chicken coop and 5 friggin chickens.

True a breed like a Warren will never fatten like a general purpose fowl like a Rhode Island or a Light Sussex, but if you feed any of them a lot of food, especially high carbs. they will get fat and go off lay. #educatedfarmer

I have five Rhode Island Reds and had my first two eggs for breakfast this morning allthough not exactly large eggs and what a difference in taste from a supermarket battery egg. Cheers for the tip Iggy, have to stop the Mrs from feeding them every two minutes especialy on my tiger loaf!cheers

I use farm gate layers pellets fwiw, buy the 20kg bags small ones cost a fortune. Nothing like good fresh eggs to make you feel better.
