And of course the spanner in the works was BIL coming in and paying for exclusivity. Brent wouldn't do that because he thought the other bidders had been chased off by the dogs of WOR. At the last minute BIL paid the £300k the administrator wanted. The staff then continued to go unpaid whilst the BIL debacle unfolded.

Had Brent not been a tight wad then he would have had exclusivity and the staff would have got paid a lot earlier.

I see the dumbing down of our goals and dreams has moved on apace on JBSOTI with this from Napolean,

I can see us squeaking into the Championship one day, but by God, the gulf when you get there is massive.

I can't stress enough, when you witness the inner machinations and infrastructure of Bristol City like I did, you KNOW that these clubs are on a different planet to us.

So the CCC is our new premiership now? At least the penny has dropped about what a proper club looks like that has ambition.

We held our own for some time in the championship before with basic infrastructure, we only got relegated because the board screwed up.  Newell knows jackshit about football and this shows it once again, all he cares about is sucking up to whoever holds the keys to try and get his ambition of being a somebody around the place. Burton won't last long. Only clubs with a top flight history and resultant fanbase can survive, if the owners don't have real wealth to invest. I packed up and went home long ago. The club is going nowhere with these owners. It's just a bucket rattling Avivafest with the wannabes protecting the owner for their perks.
