We all know that it isn't. The 'reluctant bidder' , is here to make money for himself. In order to maximise his profits, he will place a glass ceiling on the football club's potential and almost certainly hand it over to the local , self promoting Avivas and their sponsors at the first convenient opportunity.
The club is set to be confirmed as 'village' for generations to come.
It's all so very sad but all so very predictable, with the mix of banker/property developer and small minded but personally ambitious, local Aviva types.
I fear the 50 year dream is about to die and England's most underachieving city club is ready to accept utter mediocrity. The big fish in a small pond types will be happy with their Devon derbies and trips to Burton and Morecambe.
'Look how many we took Rochdale !' the Avivas will cry.
