| They need players if they're gonna do anything this season. I saw them lose at home a few weeks ago when I was down there and they were fookin shite. On the flip side though you can buy a ticket on the day for a seat behind the goal for a whole 5 euro! To be fair that's where their small band of Ultras congregate and they were actually more impressive than the team. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| They've just been promoted to the French first division again and bought by a mega-rich Russian I believe.
Claudio Ranieri is manager and they've already secured some big signings for next season. |

| unlucky in the 2004 final against porto, mourinho knew ludovic guily was their best player & made sure he got chinned early and the rest is history.
they used to be exempt from tax which lyon campaigned for years to reverse, finally they got their way & Monaco have struggled ever since. |

| France is heavily taxing high earners now but Monaco is still a tax haven which is giving it an enormous advantage when it comes to offering wages.
This is being challenged by the other French sides but Monaco won't be changing their tax laws so it's tough shit really.
On a totally different subject but still relating to money, Doncaster womens team have been in the premier league for donkeys years and finished one place above the relegation zone this season but are being forced to be relegated in favour of I think it's Man City, who didn't even win the second division, and it's all down to Man City being more attractive in terms of television and crowds. They will generate much more money than Doncaster so they get promoted instead of the league winners.
This is also being challenged by Doncaster and quite a few of the other womens teams but tv money will win.
This is how I see football going in general shortly. |

But they are going to have a couple of retail outlets in their main stand, so they'll be self-financing. |
