| I always read pasoti. I love the football debate. It's always the off the field debates like this one that descend into point scoring and cowardly jibing. I turn off when I read that I am firmly believe that most viewers of pasoti fall into this bracket.
The trouble with this debate for me is we have three sort of categories / issues.
1. Posters like John Lloyd, Gareth N and a few others who are probing and posting genuine concerns. Sadly these are lost by... 2. People sniping away, point scoring and damn right lying. 3. The 'facts' out there are in too short supply. JB has already acknowledged a shortfall in the comms with fans but there are posters on here that even when they are told the facts, ignore them and plough on regardless.
17K AND NO MORE
This seems to be pushed everywhere. JB has made it clear that extension is viable and cost effective. This is backed up by BDP who have some developments of a much larger scale. I know there are alternative views on this but forgive me for believing the professionals on this one. And lets not forget that that extension could be added in the Championship so we would be at 20,500 over the magic 20k that a lot of us aspire too and when we need it. Why would we or anyone with any sense add the seats now when they wont be needed? Surely it makes sense to add them as and when they are required.
Fu+king Turn-coat Union-man my ass Over 20k is another worry. I have to say that the reality is that this would only every be an issue if we made the PL. In that event with a huge cheque from the PL I am more than certain that solutions could be found money talks. We are actually having a heated debate about a 4th tier club making the PL. Lets make that an exciting dream not a row!
WE WOULD HAVE GONE MAD IF THIS WAS HEANEY
Again. Wake up! Heaney never had any money. He nearly killed this Club. He couldn't buy it then, he couldn't put up a garden shed let alone a £150m development. That man starved our players and staff. We fought like lions against him. To compare James Brent to than man is the ultimate insult.
THE INSULTS
The nastiness, the point scoring. I will say the same as I always do. Have a think about whether you would say the same thing face to face. EJH for example - come and meet JB. I will set it up and you can repeat the same things you've said on here and debate them for real.
BRENT IS MAKING MILLIONS SO WHY DOESN'T HE JUST PAY
Again, just have a read of that letter Richard Blight posted. This project when the GS is included is not commercially viable. In business speak that translates as JB is mental for building it. Yes of course it is a huge boost to his reputation. Yes of course it could open other doors but the simply facts are this isn't a money generator, he's already owed money by Argyle yet he is driving forward this project. Oh dear, what a nasty developer!
"THE MAJORITY HATE IT"
Absolute rubbish. Nobody could claim to speak for the majority. That is simply arrogance and assumption. That's facts though are laid out. The forums are split, the social networks are overwhelmingly in favour (and there is no need to knock that because in the world outside argyle twitter etc have a lot more credibility than pasoti), the postbag at Home Park is full of positives and the Council have been inundated with mostly positive letters, not just from Argyle fans but residents of our City. My gut is that the majority support it. I would not proclaim that though and perhaps there needs to be a way that this is voted on.
'THE POLITICAL CAMPAIGN'
I understand that individuals (key to point out that it is a tiny, tiny few) have decided that the best next step following Akkeron costing the working groups proposal at £2.6m is to write to all Labour Group Councillors asking them to ensure the green lung is protected and pointing out that JBs proposals are outside of this.
I have two things to say on this - firstly these individuals supported both WG proposals which would have both used the green lung with one taking up cottage field so the logic is basically insane and embarrassing.
More importantly though, I am angry, disgusted that so called Argyle fans, speaking on behalf of nobody but themselves could make a move that could have huge consequences for our Club and wider than that our City. What if this development was stopped? Where is the knight in shining armour. That stand is rotting. We can't compete with the 'likes' of bloody Chesterfield because we don't have the facilities to create a 24/7 revenue. We have a sensible, state of the art plan on the stocks and these individuals (I am struggling to be complimentary) are promoting action that could smash that to pieces. To finish this section, I do not for one second think that they will be successful. The list of supporting institutions, businesses etc is huge and the feedback from the public is overwhelmingly positive. I just don't like a few people assuming that because of a few internet posts they've seen the right thing to do is derail the build. Irresponsible at best.
SUMMARY
Sorry to have gone on and on... ha... and I realise fully that everytime I pop my head up on here I will get shot at. Its now gone beyond that for me. I saw the action of those 'fans' starting their political campaign and it sickened me. I know I will take stick but who cares. These people will damage our Club and it cannot be allowed to happen.
In life there is no perfect scenario. I believe we have a massive opportunity here.
- New stand - New facilities (players are already speaking about how attractive this will be to news signings) - Wider development - Capacity that suits L1/L2 - Scope to add in Championship to move to the magical 20k
On top of this we have a 3 year deal for our gaffer, a clean slate on the signings and the prospect of an exciting summer and maybe just maybe the chance of seeing some winning football. These are great times to support Plymouth Argyle.
Finally, the AFT / Club relationship. I deal with relations IR wise everyday and I know that often the myth or the rumour is way out of kilter with the reality. The Board want the best for Argyle. The AFT want the best for Argyle. Stop communicating by email / press releases and get together. I am happy (in fact would be delighted) to help make that happen. A decent meeting, a real discussion on the key issues at the Club from a fans perspective and a joined up way forward. All the Green Army deserve this.
My help is there if you need it. Apologies if my post offends anyone. I say it as I see it. Always have done. Always will do. I won't be replying to any posts because that's where it degenerates. I don't want that. As always welcome any PMs. Take care all and enjoy your summer.

| I wonder if he ever tackles Newell and De Lar on their behaviour? Or is it just people who don't bow down and obey Brent? |

| I'd pick out one line in the missive (telling us once again how to be REAL supporters)
'These are great times to be supporting Plymouth Argyle'
Is this guy for real? |

| So he still reads ATD then Hi Webby, you're welcome to return on here, just email the mods apologising for your use of multi accounts and we'll put it to a vote. The dogs of war have been unleashed by Brent, it's a shame he's decided to release the annoying ankle biting Yorkshire terrier's though. Did Webb ever explain why the letter Rickler sent to him when he was trust leader ended up in the possession of Newell and how it ended up on his Flickr? Just wondering like...... |

| Get the Board and The Trust in a room together? Only takes one thing - the board to rescind and go back on its pathetic 'it's my train set' decision to stop talking to the Trust. All you need to know about the Prssidents position is that he choose not to promote either of the excellent Trust Herald articles on his Twitter feed whereas anything Brent says is there in an instance.
As for calling out one poster how low.
He might as well called out the person who most often cites the silent majority but then he would have to name a REAL mate.

| It depends who you are lecturing though Bandwagon. If you lecture Religion to the religeous then all of them believe already. Give the same lecture to a class of Atheists then nobody will believe any of it. Your statement is 100% right. People will believe what take they have on all of this on each subject and being lectured at, whoever is doing it and from whatever angle, won't change minds. For some it's the song not the singer and for some it's both the singer and the song. It wouldn't matter much in his case what he said or whether any of it was right or wrong. It just depends what forum you happen to read it on. |

| Christopher Webb i say this to you.... you are a sellout. The day you sold out for one of brent's brass rings and accepted his token title job you sold out your principles and everything you ever stood for and everything you now say and do will be suspect and never again will you have the trust and respect of many that you alienated with your actions since being in the role.

| Complete sell out and embarrassment. Thought he was the voice of the fans? This post is the thing that worries me the most - Quote :
- dont even care about the size of the stand any more, what I am worried about is the access road which will limit expansion along with the Ice Rink and to make sure we are in Home Park for at least another 25 years and not become some A38 Argyle.
How/Will we be able to expand? And by how much? |

Well I'd have certainly said my piece to your face if you'd ever bothered to speak to me. Instead of running to Brent whining about me. - Quote :

. No - it does open other doors. Building a new stand is a requirement for developing the rest of HHP, and building an ice rink is a requirement for redeveloping the Pavilions. - Quote :

| How can Webb go on about sniping when he was one of the users of the Greenman account (admitted by one of his close mates)0 that issued threats to an Argyle fan and his family? He attacked a number of ATD users on twitter with his @Argylemoans account and has admitted to being involved with the Deep Throat and Windsor Boy accounts on pasoti which were used to abuse individuals and the Trust.
Seems that Damon's actions have upset Brent and his puppets are venting his anger. Oh well I guess more councillors need to be targetted. |

| So if the school was built elsewhere and the corner was left alone for now, would it be possible to build a corner stand at a later date. Or would the hotel, cinema, ice rink, shops make this impossible?

| Maybe I should have posted this on this thread. It's from the President so it has to be considered as officially from the Club and Brent. - Quote :
- "OK then. Lets nail another myth.
This route has been worked as the most suitable for a capacity of up to 20k.
It can be revisited and redesigned if there is ever a need to add further capacity - obvious with the planning applications etc needed. Straight from JB.
So not unambitious. Not hemmed in. Workable solutions are there."
This really does need to be highlighted in the planning application showing that there's intention to move the road in the future. As far as I am aware this has not been mentioned before, what path will the new road take, will it eat up yet more of Central Park etc? - This needs to be put on record! The President has just changed the ballpark. |

| He's been rolled out because porky is being laughed at left right and centre with his excuses and stories.
How about Akkeron explain exactly how, where and at what cost the capacity can be increased to 20,500?
Then the £1-2million income figure is explained. Let the fans know how many prawn sandwiches need to be sold and how many pints have to be thrown over "educated wankers" by the clampetts before home park generates that kind of money.
Then how about the retail units and any income they might generate for the club being discussed openly instead of vague statements being made and then rescinded.
And without bothering to look on Pasoti because that's where real fans post, was there a hint of Brent pulling out altogether if the plans aren't accepted? Well Webb, tell him to go ahead. Real answers before fans can accept yours and Newells word for anything.
A feckin Tory ex banker lining his pockets and adding to his pension fund, backed by a socialist trade union rep? You couldn't make it up.
I can get the AFT a meeting with Brent? feck off you turncoat. |
