Remember them?

Well........

"FC Halifax Town have won promotion to the Conference five years after their predecessors, Halifax Town AFC, were liquidated.

The Shaymen beat Brackley Town 1-0 in the Blue Square Bet North play-off final to reach the top tier of non-league football."

Good on them. Liquidation does not necessarily mean the end.

Halifax is a lovely place - the in-laws live just up the road from Halifax. Within a 30 minute drive you've got Bradford, Huddersfield and Leeds so they do well to get fans through the turnstiles - plus Halifax is rugby league country.

Halifax and Newport have had a great season and good for them too. It just goes to show that if a club fails and is cast aside in to non-league wilderness, there are those willing enough to revive it and to guide it back again.. cheers
