Hello all, I have a small favour to ask of you all. Could you all please email your views regarding the Higher Home Park development to the Herald?

The email address to send your views to is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and, since Sian is out of the office, it couldn't hurt to CC in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

It really is important that as many of us as possible let our feelings be known and you can also share your thoughts on the comments page by following this link, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which will take you to the article in the Herald with its rather ridiculous and leading headline.

It would appear that the overwhelming support for the AFT's Working Group proposals on this site and others is not quite enough to be considered as public feedback so we need to play our part again in trying to deliver the best possible development for the city and for the club. The way to do this is to email your supportive thoughts about these plans to the address above.

Make no mistake, there is an opportunity here for Plymouth to have a stadium and facilities to be proud of which will have a positive impact on visitors and help encourage use of the park, and it is imperative that we let everybody involved know that this is what we prefer, what we feel is best and what we would rather see as an alternative to the cramped and boxed in development that creates none of the above and permanently restricts our club and will tarnish its image for decades to come.

There is an obvious rush to get this through and the most rushed part of all has been the public consultation with fans and the city's population. There was an opportunity to engage with supporters through the Trust and the PASB before the plans were released and this was not taken, instead there were private meetings where no representative group was involved. Since the public consultation began there has been much dissatisfaction expressed with the initial plans and the alternative plans from the AFT have been met with widespread approval, we must again let our feelings be known.

It certainly looks and feels like a done deal but the Council still have a huge part to play in this and Argyle fans will be the customer base for decades to come. If enough customers and voters express their desire to see minor changes, that include the use of land already designated for development without losing any more park land not designated for development, then we can make a difference. We live in a democracy and it does not take that many votes to swing seats at local elections.

This is not about derailing the development, it is about trying to get something that the city, the club and its supporters can be proud of. What is built now will be there for decades and it will define our future and James Brent's legacy. I know I'd rather see that legacy as a positive one which delivered something we can all be proud of and helps lift the club to new heights, not one of a cramped development with no impact that places restrictions on the club for decades to come.

Below are the email addresses for our city's Councillors, please also contact them with your thoughts on this project. Mods: Could we please not merge this with the discussion on the plans? It is s separate issue that centres on public consultation rather than the discussion of the plans and it is too important to our club's future to be hidden away amongst the rest of the discussion.

Are we allowed to bombard Akkeron's office switchboard and cause their email system to go down before we march hand in hand with the dogs of war?

Lol, I did this yesterday John as Mock had provided a link in the discussion page. Are the individual councillors only going to take into account your views if you live in their constituency?

I've waxed lyrical to Sian at the Herald and to Tudor Evans.

You are completely correct. There will be no revisions. The Drawings for the Development were completed and finalised a long time ago. Its naive beyond belief to think that at this point that there will be changes. The OP deserves praise for trying make no mistake but nothing will be changed.

What we got in that initial image online is what we are going to get. Lets get on with the real issue of ensuring safety for our League Status and rebuilding the Squad in the Summer rather than trying to change something thats completely unmoveable.......

We should be grateful quite frankly for getting this fabulous new Development for nothing and thats not meant to provoke.

Helen

Firstly, can I say cracking first post Helen.

Which initial image will we be getting? The single tier, the quickly revised shelf or the "magnificent two tiered stand" IJN saw which predates them both?

Helen Richards wrote :
Nothing to do with cracking first post. Clearly some on the Forum have no idea of the depth of work required (I do) to put a development together of this size and planning.
The Drawings are finalised......Period

Akkeron does not have to respond to Groups pushing for change. They did what they had to do by putting up displays for public viewing.
I joined this forum last weekend really to try and open a few eyes on the Forum which are blinkered. Do you honestly believe James Brent is taking any notice of a 100 Dissenters on this thread......The answer is a very simple No.

We may not really like it (I certainly dont) but this is what we are getting and sooner we accept this and perhaps embrace it the better for all

That's possible, I guess. But if you start with the Peverell councillors as those are the ones who are immediately affected. As I've said elsewhere, I know that they all have reservations about Akkeron's proposals and one of them has been actively involved. Sad to say, there are possibly political points to be scored here and the Tory councillors may look to challenge the Labour controlling group.

My view is that the building on Cottage Field may become an issue as the wider community get wind of that proposal - even though it is part of the AAP. I'm not happy with that and feel that other options should be considered.

I don't think the fat lady is clearing her throat yet. And the deadline set by Akkeron is precisely that - a self-imposed deadline. It can be moved.

Could I suggest that you all take Lee Jameson's advice on the emailing the Herald thread on Pasoti. Emailing the councillors on the Planning Committee makes sense.

Good morning,

No planning application has been made for this site yet, so I am unable to register your comments. As soon as one has been made there will be site notices around the area to inform people, and (depending on the size of the application) a notice in the Plymouth Evening Herald.

So the shite Helen came out with about stuff couldn't ve changed and all that was just that, shite.

Planning not submitted yet means changes can be made to the plans.

Her latest on the farm also now convinces me she's a multi.

Only a few deluded sheep see the stand as free.
