Hello all, I have a small favour to ask of you all. Could you all please email your views regarding the Higher Home Park development to the Herald?

It really is important that as many of us as possible let our feelings be known and you can also share your thoughts on the comments page by following this link,
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which will take you to the article in the Herald with its rather ridiculous and leading headline.
It would appear that the overwhelming support for the AFT's Working Group proposals on this site and others is not quite enough to be considered as public feedback so we need to play our part again in trying to deliver the best possible development for the city and for the club. The way to do this is to email your supportive thoughts about these plans to the address above.
Make no mistake, there is an opportunity here for Plymouth to have a stadium and facilities to be proud of which will have a positive impact on visitors and help encourage use of the park, and it is imperative that we let everybody involved know that this is what we prefer, what we feel is best and what we would rather see as an alternative to the cramped and boxed in development that creates none of the above and permanently restricts our club and will tarnish its image for decades to come.
There is an obvious rush to get this through and the most rushed part of all has been the public consultation with fans and the city's population. There was an opportunity to engage with supporters through the Trust and the PASB before the plans were released and this was not taken, instead there were private meetings where no representative group was involved. Since the public consultation began there has been much dissatisfaction expressed with the initial plans and the alternative plans from the AFT have been met with widespread approval, we must again let our feelings be known.
It certainly looks and feels like a done deal but the Council still have a huge part to play in this and Argyle fans will be the customer base for decades to come. If enough customers and voters express their desire to see minor changes, that include the use of land already designated for development without losing any more park land not designated for development, then we can make a difference. We live in a democracy and it does not take that many votes to swing seats at local elections.
This is not about derailing the development, it is about trying to get something that the city, the club and its supporters can be proud of. What is built now will be there for decades and it will define our future and James Brent's legacy. I know I'd rather see that legacy as a positive one which delivered something we can all be proud of and helps lift the club to new heights, not one of a cramped development with no impact that places restrictions on the club for decades to come.
Below are the email addresses for our city's Councillors, please also contact them with your thoughts on this project. As well as your own Councillor, it couldn't hurt to let the leader of the Council know your thoughts as well, Councillor Tudor Evans (L) –

It is s separate issue that centres on public consultation rather than the discussion of the plans and it is too important to our club's future to be hidden away amongst the rest of the discussion.
