I really don't get you at all. Do you support PAFC? If so why do you love brent so much? And why your obsession with me? |

- Yep- I'm all for arguments which say 'Brent do this differently' or 'Brent stop doing that' which is why I supported the Trust's statement of Tuesday. But for Brent out, ipso facto there has to be someone else in.
Maybe you are confusing a descriptive & demonstrative term with a factual comment? Sorry I don't understand, could you clarify? Surely you're not disagreeing there does have to be SOMEONE in?
If you're saying that there could easily be someone, I accept that there potentially could and I'm not trying to impress anything other than that as fact. I'd need to know who though before being comfortable calling for him to own the club- I wouldn't want to go 'blind date' as it were. In the 60s they demonstrated to have "Nixon Out" - Many had no idea who they wanted in though.
In the 70s they demonstrated to "Ban the Bomb" - Not many had a suggestion for the control of peace though.
In the 80s they demonstrated for the removal of Thatcher - Many didn't even know who the leader of the Labour Part was.
The keyword being "Demonstrate".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But to answer your question.....With the land grab that Brent is getting with the club and CP, I would imagine a purchase would be extremely popular indeed!
A) Those are all good points. Demonstrate yes absolutely. Demonstrate against stuff absolutely. But demonstrating against is different to demonstrating FOR something different. Like I hate capitalism and see no qualms with demonstrating against it- but I don't know enough about socialist economic theory to be comfortable in my own mind that it'd work better. Being against all the options is one thing and it's something I don't take issue with at all. But to extend the analogy, perhaps we have the least worst owner running the club? B) Regards the land grab- I'm sure it would be but then the ownership model would just be a carbon copy of Brent? If Brent put the club on the market under those terms then yeah undoubtedly. But would there be much interest in the ownership model where we aren't in debt for years? |

| If Freathy is a multi then I'll eat my hat.
Far too consistent over far too long a time-scale.
Usually right, too. |

| well whoever he is he's usually correct.
the pro-brent massive is dwindeling.
green sam seems to share my view of the mccauley era - ie wheres the alternative? normally id agree where is the alaternative?, however alternative voices were shunted into a siding and brent now has the club by the balls and the 'superfans' with it.
chris webb be critical of brent/jones ! go on my son i dare you.............. |

| The buying of the club may or may not have been questionable.
The actions of the present board may or may not have been for the good of the club. They may or may not prove to be ok for Argyle in the long term.
We may or may not go down to non-league and we may or may not bounce back immediately.
But, in my opinion, what is incontrovertible is that the actions of Mr Brent, Holliday and (was there another investor in the purchase of the car-park?) have made any potential purchase of the club a far less attractive prospect. |

| He's made plenty of mistakes and clearly needs someone to advise him about what to do.. But lets be honest who is going to want to own a team thats bottom of the football league and will probably be playing conferance football come August? I would guess at not many |

| hey guys who remembers the days when people (mainly freathy and co) where calling for Stapleton to step aside/sellup and the staplewallet fans would always come out and say...
Who do you replace him with? there is no one out there!!!
it appears to me that history is repeating itself. |

Good question, the answer is no one as Brent has stripped the club of all its assets and left us with a squad of loanees and shit of no value to anyone else.
Walton has gone, Harvey would have gone had he not been injured. There's no chance of us building a team for the future despite us being told that the team would be built round youth.
The answer is I don't give a shit anymore. Wake me up when the club isn't infested by property developers, asset strippers, land grabbers, spotty twats with song sheets, self promoters, village idiots, deep throating Windsor boys, iddesleigh green, the Nightfly, Brian green and lee Jameson.
Other than that though I like Freathy's answer. A steaming pile of dogshit. I could have composed that myself Hugh . Well done , my dear old thing ! |

Potential bidders were hounded off by the digs of war and when threats were made it put potential bidders off.
In the Newell files was a copy of an email to the Pasoti mods from someone who had been harassed and threatened along with their family.
No wonder nobody else wanted to step forward if anyone attempted to stop Brent getting the club the dogs of war we're released. This. |
