| I have a funny feeling QPR will be the next Pompey, Redknapp when he arrived said the wage bill is inflated and was moaning the bowsinga was on 40k a week then signs 2 players adding 22 million to the QPR deficit and 190k on wages. Chris Samba 100k +Bonus WTF. The Chairmen said earlier if they are relagated he would sell up, he cant sustain this, he has a networth of 126 million. IF QPR go down they wont be able to move the players on and the parachute cash wont save them.
abosolutely ridiculous no one ever seams to learn. |

You've gone from one extreme to the other Tringy. Both models are wrong. The very well respected football blog The Swiss Ramble wrote last year that QPR's PLAYER wageroll to turnover was already at 130% and that is before you factor in other staff, the costs of running the team, costs of maintaining the stadium etc. That can only increase with signings like Samba today. That is fine if you are a fan who has bottomless pockets however Fernades is neither a fan and nor does he have bottomless pockets. He's already threatening to leave QPR if they get relegated. They are a basket case waiting to happen. If they get relegated they are heading for the rocks. |

| Interesting comparisons really when you consider that both clubs were very similar. Both promoted in the same season from the same league and both with similar attendance figures. QPR then chucked in the worlds pot of wealth in the name of glory and Argyle emptied the bank account in the name of greed.
Neither works but there is a middle road just as Swansea have showed us both.

| buying your way out of trouble in the way QPR are doing will ultimately fail in the long term.
Isnt it funny that fernandes spends hundreds of millions of £ on QPR and his F1 team Catherham and neither one has improved. |

| They've got the right man there to do it. Thought he may have reined in the teams directly above by now, mind. |

| Chucking the dosh about rarely works and when it does it's normally short term but, penny pinching and missing out on half decent players in transfer windows will in the short term bring failure unless you have a dam good youth system with good players coming through.
Since our Championship days we have penny pinched in every single January transfer window when it was plainly obvious we had to improve the squad at such a crucial time of the season. January is the make or break time for clubs pushing for promotion or clubs fighting relegation and January is when you find out how the committed the owners are.
If you own a Football League club you are one of two things, a gambler fan or a entrepreneur with an eye for other things such as development opportunities. |

| £12.5 million fee and a 4.5 year contract at £100,000 a week.
That adds up to a £35 million commitment to one player!
How on earth does the club expect to be able to pay out that sort of money and does the player (or his advisors) genuinely think the club can honour his contract in full?
Ironic that it's QPR, because he could well turn out to be their "Walton" |
