Being the true Argyle fan that he is, we've also seen Webby, the one time Trust leader, give up the Trust and provide his valuable time to save the club, again without reward (other that a title, extensive media coverage, a place on the local radio commentary team and a few other perks). A truly massive fan and a fans fan!
So my question to you Nikkk is, being the Argyle fan that you so obviously are, what's your motivation? ?
I will do whatever I can to see the club begin to grow again and get out of the shit. The financial sponsorship at the moment is the best I can offer and will continue to do so
Thanks for that Nikkk, would you ever consider a position in the HP Boardroom? droom
I don't now think that a boardroom position is important but investment in the club is bloody important But how about it then Nikkk, would you? |

A place on the board means nothing unless you have a substantail share holding. If I felt I could committ time etc then yes but the most important thing at the moment is financial support . |

| Nikkk, (if you still intend to log in)
Have you thought about donating to the official Argyle Fans Trust at all? They are looking at some imaginative ways in which both the Trust and the club can work within the community. This is in line with both Peter Jones' and James Brent's wish for Argyle to be at the heart of the community.
Secondly are you a member of the Trust? If not, then why not? |

| I didn't really wanna jump in last night because things were getting a bit silly. But Mr Wood has it in a nutshell when he says most people will judge a person by the company he keeps. Nikkk and Brent seem happy to make that popularity sacrifice.
I'd also say that in the face of some pretty tasty provocation, Nikkk, for me, does seem to be a decent sort. |

| Respect to the man for putting his head into the lion's mouth.
He's a rich man choosing to spend his money where he chooses at Argyle. I've said elsewhere on various other threads, I've never understood why Nikkkkk comes in for such vitriol. Although maybe a friend/acquaintance of Mr Newell, I assume he hasn't been deep-throating with him. That and other internet games have been carried out by a different bunch.
If I had the money, (I wish - it would have made the last few months much less of a nightmare for me!!!!!!), I would like to think I would have done it without fanfare but ..... whatever, he's done it. His payments have helped speed up the payment of money owed to the staff and has provided more money for the club. That's good isn't it?
Where would you spend the money at Argyle (remember the cap on spending on players)? |

| IMO this is only the first play in the game. I'm not sure exactly what the end game will be but I don't like the smell of it. Anyone, no matter how wealthy, willing to throw money into a seemingly bottomless hole at a football club for no reward or position , while the owner spends nothing ,is either a saint or a sinner. Where's your money guys ? ps I wish Penz was still here................... he'd have a well thought out theory.

He's like Brent's sponsor, so James can carry on with his real business interest at Home Park. It's all very odd, to say the least. |

| You're very odd but you are still allowed to post. Strange old world.
Lets all look for a conspiracy because some people always like one of those. Some people thrive on them. It's not our money it's his money and as far as I can see it is up to him how he spends it and frankly is no business of anyone else. Plenty of people support charity type causes to the tune of lots of pennies so what is the difference here. It seems to me that most people wanted the staff who were not paid when due to get their money as quickly as possible and that is what has happened because of somebodies generosity. The problem with that is.......
He didn't have to come on here at all. I wouldn't have in his place because I wouldn't owe anyone here an explanation for anything. |

I've deleted the rest of the post because I agree with it. This part, though... The staff aren't a charity. They're not a charitable cause. I know you know that, but feel it needs clarifying. Newell's hard work, Nikkk's donations....not exactly up there with Bono feeding African children from his ever-giving teat. But otherwise, yeah.

| The difference senseless one is that PAFC is meant to be a football club not a charity! |

| We may not be a charity but it's becoming more and more evident that we need it. |

| But there again the Auctions were run as a sort of charitable exercise which is why I used that term and only that. I don't recall mentioning PAFC at all Dickler only what was being done in the name of Argyle workers. The Auctions have nothing to do with the "running" of the club itself.

| Au contraire, Senseless!
Newell's auction money goes to the GT's who give it to PAFC and the GT's have to be paid back by Brent - meaning us fans!
A lot of this stuff really does go over your head doesn't it? |

I can sense things about to get tense.
My tense-o-meter is twaddling like ker-razy. |

| I know it's a bit childish to retaliate like that but I feel I must stoop to his level and age group. Like a playground knob I know he doesn't like me but hey ho I guess I won't have sleepless nights over it.
Let me put it in simple terms for the simple to understand. The money being raised was not for the running of the club it was for the staff to be paid via the GT's who would then get the money back over the same period of time the staff would have taken to be paid. The GT's would then presumably in time invest that money in local interests rather than PAFC itself. Ergo the staff benefit but PAFC doesn't. Or maybe I got that totally wrong and you might explain where. |

| In terms of what Nikkk does. There are a lot of loan sharks operating in Cornwall certainly a bit farther along the a30 corridor. In some ways it's good that people can go to FES and get access to cash instead of going to less regulated sources. If sub prime lending good. It's been good to have him on here. |

| Nikkkkkk has left the building ? There IS more to all of this. Time will tell exactly what but at least he can go back to the nool and Napoleon can whine to the farm about ATD being ungrateful and almost driving Nikkkkk away from making his generous and unheralded contributions.
If my judgement in this instance is incorrect and Nikkkk is just a wealthy Argyle supporter, willing to shell out tens of thousands of pounds for no reward, other than everybody should know who he is, I'll accept I was wrong and apologise. Excuse me for being cynical but experience has taught me that anyone or anything close the the farm controller, inevitably has a questionable motive and is about as transparent as a Brent's community led club. |
