| probably should ask this on pasoti but i would get lots of abuse, just why is there so much love for peter jones and why are people clamouring for his return? the reason i see bandied about so far is to improve communication but the club can always get someone in to do that and in fairness to james brent he seems quite accomplished at getting his messages in the media, and while he was against the purchasing of the stadium and the cricket club why did he not stay and fight for what he belived rather than sell up for a tidy profit. |

| And Damon Lenszner for that matter. Ask it on the Farm DJ, why not, can't see it being a problem, unless it is perceived as being anti Argyle, and breaking the 'unity' rule handed down from on high. My own opinion would be I imagine almost all of his kudos in the wider fanbase is due to his perceived association with Michael Foot... full stop ... maybe a yearning for mythical halcyon days. Within Pasoti Trust, I would say it's an accomodation. At the start to all this, Jones and the 'Londoners' were treated with suspicion ... maybe even seen as half lefties ... by those that now court him... probably due to the different banks of the river they stood on during the Stapleton/Wrathall years. In reality, he's too far away from the mix in London to have any real benefit to the club, and my cat has more feel for the pavements of Plymouth than he. Still, where would we be without the modern conference call that has saved the planet, and negated the need for a lot of boring journeys to far flung constituencies. |

| I had a lot of respect for Peter Jones before this whole debacle kicked off. I've now come to the decision he's no different to any other small-minded businessman. Talks a good game but would he really have been any different to Stapleton?
Great at publicity though, credit where it's due. |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]He does understand the club but who knows whether he is just another political animal, looking after number one first. He used to support me by PM on Pasoti and feed me information but would never 'come out' publicly. I don't trust people who hide. Far prefer those who say what they mean and mean what they say. |

| Used to have a bit of a problem with his chippyness post departure but the stuff he was saying then largely came to pass. I'm sure no-one with an involvement in Argyle in the last decade can come away scot free (save Michael Foot I guess) but i've come to the conclusion that in the kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man is king. Basically there's far less blood on his hands and you have to say that if someone as dripping with honesty and integrity as Michael Foot considered him a trusted friend then really who am I to argue?.
I really hope he has some form of input in the new regime. We need genuine Argyle fans in there, we need experience in there and we need good communication in there. |

| Posty mentioned a few things about Jones that turned me right off the fella, but considering what Posty also said about a few others only to then take up a mod position with his old "mates" makes me question what he mentioned to me.
I had thought for a long time that Jones was perfect for the club, but there's something about his desperation for a "position" that alarms me. |

From my personal experience... Postey is more two faced than a coin. |

| I met Peter Jones a few times in the Hyde Park and he always gave the fans time. I was impressed by him (and probably a bit star struck ), but I was very aware that he was a skilled PR man. He certainly makes you think that every point you make has never been raised before, and that your opinion is important. But of course the communication from the club was far better when he was there and he is infinitely preferable to Stapletwat, getRidsdale and Heaney. I have heard some negative stories about him, but I think it may of been from the same source who is now on the Plan B committee with him (and also with another member he described as a "user and a networker"). Those prawn sandwiches must be very tasty. |

| That's the bit that sticks in my throat about Jones, Frank.
How can any man sit and discuss issues with the very people that were not so long ago making his Argyle life miserable and sticking a very long and twisted knife in his back? That's the bit that gets the "desperate" alarm going. |

Yup but thank gawd I don't have to surround myself with "friends" that involve themselves in things like this, what dirty shitty lives some people lead. I think its the Stapes effect. We had too much success too fast and some fans have let it go to their heads. They want to be the new Bathing Ape or they think that if they had put £30k into the club 10 years ago they could have been on the board as well. Or who would have thought that being a mod on a website would lead to such adulation from the fan base, or even better to be within touching distance of the boardroom. |

| I think you've hit on something there, Frank. And now Pasoti Trust is wide open ... fill your boots, bring your own bucket. trust Leaders will be expecting expenses paid Away days in the Directors' Box. Living the dream, as Ridsdale says. It's all going to go horribly wrong.

Living the dream, as Ridsdale says. And the reason why the Trust was slated by some when it was first set up was because THEY didn't think of it first. A few unknowns with a good idea managed to jump up a few rungs of the ladder. How very dare they |

| That's because the very idea of Trust endeavour doesn't appeal to them. However, they soon got rid of those upstarts and yesterday's men. It will be interesting, when the Grest Escape committee is disbanded, how IJN can nudge his way into the room, what with his "I'm not a trust man". I see Wozzer and he are jocularly endowing a board place on eachother many a word said in jest eh ? |

| I wonder if Brent will offer ATD a place in the boardroom? We deserve it for all the hard work we have done. |

| Ridsdale will try to rule with a rod of iron. If there is any involvment from the fans outside of Jones, and he has anything to do with it, he would choose the fat salesman from the Taverners .... he's his sort of man... probably under the guise of some sort of commercial/fund raising thing. That would cause a lot of unrest within Pasoti Trust. There will be a big fall out at some stage, as some seek to jettison those they see unfit for duty. |

| Peter Jones understands the nature of the club and what is required for it to succeed. With his background, he is undoubtedly a political animal and will make friends with the devil to get where he wants to be. He clearly has Newell sussed. |
