| Kevin Blackwell 5/4 Keith Hill 3/1 Colin Lee 6/1 Lawrie Sanchez 12/1 Sean O'Driscoll 12/1 Steve Cotterill 14/1 Jim Magilton 16/1 Romain Larrieu 20/1 Mark McGhee 20/1 Mick Harford 20/1 Phil Brown 22/1 Andy Thorne 22/1 Paul Ince 22/1 Dave Bassett 22/1 Liam Daish 22/1 Iain Dowie 33/1
My four man shortlist would be
Keith Hill (proven record at this level with Rochdale on a shoe string budget) Steve Cotterill (Not a bad managerial record 40% win rate, experianced at lower level small budget clubs) Kevin Blackwell (Did a good job at Sheff Utd, Leeds and performing a miricle at Bury, can we really afford to pay compensation?) Phil Brown (although i cant stand him he could do a job here)
Why oh why is colin Lee so high up the betting list, his managerial record is shite and he's been out the game far to long, director of football yes but no way a manager |

Wouldn't argue with those 5. Would talk to Brown as well |

Wouldn't argue with those 5. Would talk to Brown as well Phil Brown would be too expnsive in terms of his wages and what he would want transfer wise and entourage. Plus he is a little too hollywood in his attitude. |

Blackwell a shit record, a 38% win rate average across 4 clubs managed, and thats despite a low win rate at Bury his current job, although they have improved immensely since he arrived. Keith Hill 39% Win rate Sean O'Driscoll 36% Win rate Steve Cotterill 40% Win rate Mark McGhee 39% win rate, but only 28% win rate with both his last two clubs. Wouldnt go near |

Wouldnt go near From those stats I would still be most imressed by Keith Hill because of the teams he has managed not being particularly big clubs with money to spend. Blackwell's win ratio is pretty much the same but at Leeds and Sheff Utd he would have had some big name signings already at the clubs and money to spend on his own signings because of the big crowds those teams attract. Cotterill surprises me with 40%, as I just don't rate him at all, yet can't really put my finger on why. Just shows pre-conceived thoughts can be dangerous. |
