| A mate of my father in law was working at Argyle. He was apparently made redundant 2 - 3 weeks ago (but was paid for the month). He also received a redundancy pay out.
I may have missed it but have the club announced that redundancies have been made (I'm aware that 5 - 10 people were going to be made redundant but not seen any other confirmation)? |

| I'm sure it will all be done on the quiet if they can get away with it. |

I heard Barry (one of his job running the disable section) has been made redundant. |

| I've heard from other sources that more staff have been made redundant. Strange that there has been no mention in the local media?
The person my father in law knows worked during the admin period without pay, he's in his early 60's, so looks like he will face another period of struggle in just over a year. |

| Don't worry. Chris Webb has been very supportive towards them, while he brushes past on the way to the trough. |

The club and its employees doesn't deserve Chris. Union man and Argyle hero. Apparently, he saved the club that wouldn't die. All those loyal staff, working without pay. It's great to see Chris not even mention the redundancies. It's almost as if they aren't happening |

| He won't mention the redundancies as he doesn't want to follow those poor sods out the door. |

| Quote PLYMOUTH Argyle Disabled Supporters Association (PADSA) was re-launched in April this year. The group's aim is to represent the disabled supporters who attend Plymouth Argyle Football club on home games regularly or occasionally and attend away games. Due to the post of the disabled liaison officer being made redundant recently at PAFC we would like to encourage those who attend Argyle to join us. They can contact us on 01752 209941or email [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. We would like to say thank you to Barry Hardman who helped the committee over the last five years set up this group and he will be much missed for his guidance and expertise. S CLARK St Budeaux |

Despite noises to the contary that's surely got nothing to do with restructuring that's pure money saving. |

Despite noises to the contary that's surely got nothing to do with restructuring that's pure money saving. The fact that Brent is in favour of a post like this being made redundant, demonstrates in no uncertain terms the level of cutback our multi-millionaire is prepared to authorise, if it means saving himself a few pennies. These disabled supporters, by and large, have to make much more of an effort if they're going to support the team. Brent quite evidently isn't fussed where the cuts come from though. Poor show. |

| If I remember rightly, a seat on PASB was offered to a rep from PADSA. It was turned down, I think. (Sorry if I've got this wrong).
There is a good argument that says that everyone at the club in any position of responsibility ought to have the needs of disabled supporters in mind when making any decision. Any supporter, disabled or otherwise, ought to feel able to make representation to the club if they don't feel their needs are being catered for. It ought to be in the minds of all PASB members to facilitate this.

| The trust have to draw a line now and say enough is enough we want serious answers from you James Brent as to what is going on and not from your goebbels type spokesman. |

| Appalling.
Once any organisation decides to start making redundancies, this is the kind of thing that can happen.
Worse, with so many people brainwashed into thinking there's no alternative - the competitive environment, entrepreneurship, the Apprentice, stable employment's a luxury we can't afford, business above all, Dragon's Den, blah blah blah - the more good people will get thrown on the scrapheap, along with the important jobs they do. |

| Is there not a legal requirement to have a disabled liaison officer of some sort ? It can't be being done by someone else otherwise the post isn't redundant |

Much as we'd like to hope there is, I'd be very surprised if there was. Too much like a 'burden on business', innit. |

| I find it strange that Fletcher receives such sympathy, despite earning hundreds of thousands of pounds, yet Argyle employees who earned a normal wage don't even get a mention (in local media) when made redundant. Those people do know the true meaning of the word struggle and aren't in a position to take a break. Why no mention of the redundancies?
I notice one fuckwitt on pasoti said the redundancies were necessary as these people stood around "doing nothing". |
