Every now and again I like to let her indoors know just how much she's appreciated and show her some of the finer things in life. Tonight was one such night.

Main: Marinated chicken with patatas bravas & garlic alioli.
A riot of Spanish flavour, with smoky, spicy marinated chicken in a rich sherry vinegar and tomato sauce, complimented by fiery paprika roasted potatoes and a garlicky aromatic mayonnaise.
Side: Rosemary potatoes with rosemary (obv) parsley & roasted garlic. (I added a dozen beer battered onion rings to this to bulk it out)

Dessert: Chocolate profiteroles stack (qty11) - I pulled rank and made sure I had 6.

Wine: A spanish white - she doesn't drink red, and hey, it's chicken innit.

Verdict: I have to say....fooking gorgeous. Though I had to buy another bottle of wine, and it's turned out she's not keen, so I've nearly finished the 2nd bottle too...just as well there's no Henry Westons in the house, or things could really get ugly..... drunken

I hope you made her do the washing up. Otherwise they get all above their station and start expecting it every week.

My mothers here outstaying her welcome so the tv's on full blast AND she's got feckin subtitles on. Mind you she's watching some poncey period drama on 5 I think so I made us a lovely bit of rump steak fried in butter and mushrooms, chunky chips and grilled tomatoes. I've been drinking cider since 11.30am so dessert went begging.

If she's still hungry, which she will be, there's a limoncello dessert in the fridge. It's ok but basically just trifle.

As the missus will be at work for another hour she won't have steak so I've made her a pizza with chicken breast, mushrooms, sweetcorn, red onion and some finely chopped birdeye chillis. I de-seeded the chillis but thought it was a waste so I've sprinkled all the seeds all over the pizza and covered them over with the other ingredients.

Should be fun to watch her sweating after she takes the first bite lol!

It was feckin hilarious. She was saying how tasty it was and munching away then her face dropped and she had beads of sweat on her forehead Razz. She picked off the chillis and said they were a bit too hot, but it was plastered in seeds.

She pebbledashed the toilet Sunday morning alright.

On price, yeah. On quality, na.

I'd also much rather give my cash to a Great British Institution like M & S, than those pesky Germans.
