| On another forum I frequent, in December, all avatars are Xmas-ified. Let's do ours. I've chosen this handsome chap and whacked a Father Xmas hat on his head and given him a lovely white beard. |

Mind you Jack Frost 2 Mutant killer snowmen was pretty good too. |

| I was browsing some Christmassy pictures to try and find something suitable for my avatar when I came across this photo of a white-haired gent in a Christmas hat-and baubles outfit. Would anyone object to me using this as my avatar til Christmas? Too soon? |

| Little-known Christmas fact: Noddy Holder doesn't celebrate Christmas 'til February, because that's when the cheque arrives from the Performing Rights Society. |

| Christmas stockings allegedly evolved from three sisters who were too poor to afford a marriage dowry and were, therefore, doomed to a life of prostitution. They were saved, however, when the wealthy Bishop Saint Nicholas of Smyrna (the precursor to Santa Claus) crept down their chimney and generously filled their stockings with gold coins.c |

Too bleddy right. Let's face it, it's meant to be a religious festival, and therefore meaningless to a lot of people. Instead it's just become an ever-bigger festival of greed. I had the misfortune to be in a checkout queue behind a couple of people who were buying over £100 worth of decorations, wrapping paper and general 'xmassy' tat this afternoon. Sick. |
