That slip was dated March 2010 so he's probably had a pay rise since then. Nice work if you can get it.

Don't all footballers have to pay a big chunk of their salary to a PFA pension? So ex players don't have to try their hand at managing, like Fletcher is trying, and don't have to sell their medals when they've pissed their millions up the wall?

Not that Fletchers medals need insuring for a huge amount.

Weirdly, the FA fine players at the same amount no matter what league they play in - technically, they're all treated the same as the days of amateur/professional no longer exist. If you call the ref a fat poofter down at Tothill Park on a Sunday morning, you could be fined the same amount as Carlos was fined for tripping up Ashley Cole.

In 2010 a yellow card was 8 quid. It doesn't matter if your a top premier league star earning obscene amounts of money or a 17 year old apprentice bricklayer playing in the local park league everyone pays the same
