Now that's something I've always wanted to know. How can anything be fried if it wasn't done in a pan?
Tomorrow I might have ovenbaked haricot beans in a tomato coulis, served over a lightly grilled crusty pain. That's the fancy cooking version, anyway.
(Which reminds me, quite naturally, of Billy Connolly's rant about menu language. Potatoes of the Night, anybody?) [b] I share your crusty pain Pegs! I do agree with you, Sea Bass is the one that gets me. |

| There are several species of Bass, including fresh water ones.
"Nice cup of tea" gets me.
Actually Gran, I was going to make you a horrible cup of tea, but as you've asked for a nice one, I shall indeed make you a "nice cup of tea" instead. |

You were lucky. We lived for three months in a paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six in the morning, clean the paper bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down t' mill, fourteen hours a day, week-in week-out, for sixpence a week, and when we got home our Dad would thrash us to sleep wi' his belt. |
