Not often I agree with this guy as he's far too pro anyone in the boardroom, but this time I think he's making the point pretty well that nothing has changed!

As usual the local media is making a meal out of what is already obvious to all but the champagne Charlies making a very sad fool of themselves. Those scenes at Home Park reminded me of the old days when pliable, but lucky, people were coerced on a weekly basis to put their thumbs up for the camera before the local paper would hand over their 'Spot the ball competition' cheques.

For me, the WMNews was another casulaty of the Stapleton and NWO years, no more than a Ministry of Information trotting out the party line... no wonder their sales fell through the floor. The only thing "Rupert" got right was his concern over the failure of Todd's one player in / one player out policy.

How come the WMNews doesn't do an online version of their recipes ... that was the only reason I bought their paper on a Saturday ... happy days. flower

I remember asking Metcalf what it would take for him to adopt a more anti Stapleton cynical view, he replied "when the club started to decline". He never really did have the balls to become outspoken and risk his position on the social ladder of Home Park.

I hear from the man himself that since he no longer gets his works freebie, he no longer graces Home Park with his presence. Yet another self elected superfan and 'celeb' of the Stapleton era bites the dust.

FFS! You're joking?

So his pasoti presence is merely to bolster news sales?

Mr Metcalf posted it on one of Pasoti's threads in black and white ... quietly slipped it in without a murmur. Probably has too onerous work commitments or wants to spend more time with his family or something. cat
I somehow think inside he's had enough and was probably never the superfan he implied... just the same as all the rest of us. As for the pimping of his newspaper, while I don't really see a problem with such things as long as it is above board, his presence on Pasoti has always unashamedly had that element .. and even more so now... he's posting on there every 5 seconds by the look of things

One of the things I hope will come out in the aftermath of this whole debacle is the shameful conduct of the WMN and the Herald. In one of the most corrupt episodes in English football they have managed to investigate the sum total of Gardener all and have been completely out "scooped" by Posty and the breakfast brigade.

And their websites are the worst I have ever seen.
