| I might be alone on here, but being a big fan of autobiography's, I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on things they have read?
My 3 recommendations would be...
Margaret Thatcher - The downing street years Nigel Lawson - Memoirs of a Tory radical George Bush - Decision points
Sporting:
Fernando Torres - My Story Alex Ferguson - managing my life |

| I'm reading a book about Garrincha probably the greatest footballer that most football fans haven't head of. YouTube him. Anyhow the book is called 'Garrincha: The Triumph and Tragedy of Brazil's Forgotten Footballing Hero'. Just to whet your appetite he lost his virginity to a goat. He out footballed Pele and out lifestyled George Best. A one off from his upbringing to the fact that his right leg was twisted inward and left outward and was almost totally unplayable against.
I've just finished The Story of The Streets my Mike Skinner and it's much more than a run of the mill pop band biography.

| I read a biography of Adolf Hitler, not Mein Kampf, and it was fascinating reading.
If he wasn't quite so mental and a mass murderer of epic proportions, he actually had some great ideas and rebuilt Germany.
I also read a biography of JFK which was heavy going but again interesting. I had no idea that his father was one of the main reasons the Americans didn't join in WWII until after Pearl Harbour. He was the American Ambassador in Britain I believe, and he was well up for letting Germany have their own way in Europe, which would have meant the King who abdicated being returned to the throne as a figurehead and the reigning Royal Family allowed to leave Britain and be exiled in Canada.
Howard Marks, Mr Nice is a real eye-opener and made me laugh a lot.
A really disappointing autobiography for me was Ronnie Wood's. I was really expecting a right laugh and some great stories but it was pretty boring really. |

Before anyone asks it wasn't me! No it was a good looking goat. A football superstar like Garrincha could have had any goat he wanted. Why the feck would he put his knob in a minger like Mouldy? |

I have personally read both volumes of Mein Kampf, despite being poorly written, very repetitive and essentially a large rant, some excellent ideas come out of it, partnered with some disgusting ideas as well. I do suggest Greenjock you read Thatcher's "the downing street years" or "the path to power", not that dis-similar from hitler ;D |

| There will be a massive street party the day Thatcher pops her clogs.
I read a spot of Jeffrey Archer - Kane and Abel as my last new book.
Heavy going, but also quite excellent.
I hate autobiographys from players still playing, or managers still managing, etc. 'The Moons a Balloon' is probably my fave, but he was an actor. Paul Lake's was really very good, as a footballer. Simon Jordan's is meant to be alright, but I'm not sure I could send any money his way. The German keeper who suicided is on me wishlist, too. |

They smell different! The aborigines of our shores. Also rumoured to have no soul. |

I have read The Downing Street Years along with a number of political blogs. What ever we think of Thatcher I don't think people should party when she pops her clog's. |
