A fair bet I'd say. A part of me wanted to go and ask him who he thought he was kidding. But I'm not sure I'd have ever lived down getting chinned by a bloke in a pair of stilletos, so I gave it a miss...

Well. In this age of bleddy X-Factor and bleddy I'm a Z-List Celebrity or Rubbish Politician Look at Me and bleddy endless cookery programmes and bleddy nearly everything else ...

From the sea to the land beyond reminded me just how brilliant telly can be. No story, hardly any words, just loads of archive film of the sea and its impact on us, with music by (of course) British Sea Power. Hypnotic, mesmerising, funny, tragic, nostalgic ... words fail me. Everybody should be made to watch it.

(And yes, I know it's not mundane, but then neither is a tranny on a train. Amongst other posts. Tut.)

Just got back to my flat - a good friend who popped in while I was in Devon left 12 - count 'em, 12 - cans of Scrumpy Jack as a pressie....

A very good friend.

A very, very good friend.

Heels and stockings/tights, the full works. Sadly, hands like Pat Jennings.

Probably Mock on the way back from the rugger, did he smell of beer and fecal matter?

Did a big shop today. Didn't need milk.

I need to revisit and reconceptualise my strategy.

Oh, and I've been to the dentist today, as well. Check up and hygienist. £17.50. Nothing needing doing. No nectar points.

I saved up enough dosh to buy some speakers for my phone. I know I'm losing sound quality by playing mp3 but the speakers are a big jump forward in comparison to the phone speaker. Other news, manflu season is here. The poor other half is now in bed dosed up with garlic. Bless.

I've hardly been hungry at all today.

Then, about an hour ago, I got very, very hungry.

I'm having a bit of a roast for tea tonight. It's the only way to get properly warm after getting quite literally soaked from head to toe.

Still haven't run out of milk, by the way.

The answer to that would be Vindaloo, which results in visiting the loo.

Yesterday, on my soaking wet journey home, I encountered my neighbour's son and caught the bus with him. This morning, on my nice and dry and almost sunny journey to mundanity, I encountered him again and caught the bus with him.

Didn't see him on the way home, though.
