Says it all!

Just checked the Herald, Argyle news as usual and low and behold the headline "Makeover for the Far Post Club" caught my attention. Started to read the article with the thought - 'bet they had to buy the paint' and sure enough a few volunteers from the Senior Greens did the work and PROVIDED the materials. I'm not knocking them for what they did in any way, but most people will think of Brent (who gave it the thumbs up) and mutter "stingey sod" to themselves. Most people who have already commented about the article have already said "should'nt the club fund it". As people keep saying on here, it gets more "village" by the day.

Surely any normal multi-millionaire would be utterly embarrassed by this?

Those who favour the organic model have found a kindred spirit in JB - he doesn't give a f*ck who's paying, so long as it isn't him.

Why not get a local company in but instead of paying them give them a free advertising board. There are still plenty empty behind the lyndy.

No doubt repayment will take the form of a 'community project' or two.

The Far Post continues to survive (probably thrive or at least last time I tried to get a membership albeit a few years ago I couldn't) despite the last lot wanting to close it. Hopefully it will have a place in the new all singing all dancing revenue raising bright shiny eateries in the new grandstand.

If he'd sauntered in and said it looked like a shithole I would hope the Senior Greens would've attacked him with their zimmer frames and told him to go feck himself, but then Mr Newell is also a Senior Green now so I suppose any dissenting voices will be slapped down and told to tow the line.

We have one of the biggest attendances in the division and an apparantly wealthy owner, and I'm presuming a wealthy board of directors? Who ever they are. Yet we're signing 32 year old part time crocked players and the fans are painting the ground. Pub teams would be embarrased at this level of amatuerism. Are most Argyle fans stupid? When you look at some of the utter SHIT posted on pasoti Argo fans are not only putting up with all this crap they are enthuastically supportive of it! I give up. There is no hope.

TBF to the guys involved it is admirable they could be bothered to get off their arses and pay their own money out on materials use their own time and do something useful instead of just moaning about the state of the FPC. However, shame on you Brent for at least not even buying the materials, maybe a gesture like a donation to charity might make you look less of a Scrooge?

Pissed off that anyone should knock these people for doing this work.
