According to the rumours website (so could be a load of bollocks) is on trial with us. Highly rated Welsh youth player whose career nose-dived and seems to be another 'Cherno Samba'. Now 28 and playing in one of the lower Spanish Divisions for CD Ourense. Has had a lot of clubs.

Another underwhelming player linked with us.

We don't seem so much to be scraping the bottom of the barrel as tipping it up and sifting through the dregs, looking for the really unappetising scraps.

I can see Jonah now, flicking through the football ebay site ... anyone, anyone who fits a certain position, and once in aprevious life was considered half tidy. Can anyone explain why we seem to be more desperate than Torquay, that get gates of 2500 ?
Just how competitive IS this budget, and just how connected IS Fletcher, where it matters ?
Just HOW MANY of the present renewed contracts were deals done to get players to agree to the deferment. Are the management team getting far more than their fair share ?
Something doesn't feel right about looking at this sort of player. We could do better as a fresh starting club in the Conference somewhere.

Rhys Griffiths has confirmed (on twitter) that Crowell has been training with Argyle this week.

When it comes to targets, nobody expects us to be shopping at Harrods or even Debenhams.

But the occasional foray into the realms of something like TJ Hughes isn't too much to ask is it, for a Chairman that "will provide funds to get the club to the level at which it should be performing"?

We're scratching around in the Poundshop at the shit noone else wants.

Privately, Webby must be pissed off that he's duty-bound to try and talk up this embarrassing level of recruitment search.

Trust in Brent. LOL

If he can talk out against fat cat corporate pensions and be happy with park of the ground be hived off into a pension vehicle for James Brent I on't think missing the mark on transfer targets is going to worry him too much.

That's the problem - and where Brent has played a blinder - the Chris Webb of 2 years ago would have been one of the noisiest critics of the patronising crap we've been served up with this summer; but of course these days he's nothing more than James Brent's representative on Earth, a cheerleader more embarrassing than those girls wheeled out at the Brickfields before Albion home games. At least we know Chris's soul can be bought for a AAA pass and a web page. Maybe we should have a whip-round and see what we can offer him.

Even though the cheerleaders appear to have more testosterone than the players, Albion on Saturdays is looking a more and more attractive proposition with each announcement that comes out of Home Park. The Jail Ale on tap, which you can drink while watching the match, is a particular winner for me. Plus it's just 50 yards from Casa Symons, so a short stagger home.

Although he signed an 18 month contract with Port Talbot announced on 17th July 2012-

Crowell Rejoins Steelmen

Quote :
Mark Jones’ preparations for the new season have taken another step towards completion with the news that Matthew Crowell has signed an 18-month deal with the club.
Crowell, 28, originally joined Port Talbot last summer but his move was cut short after being offered a full-time deal to play for Spanish side C.D Ourense.

The midfielder however has been training with the Steelmen throughout pre-season and featured in last week’s victory over AFC Porth, before agreeing terms on a new deal, becoming the club’s eighth summer signing.
“We delighted to welcome Matthew back,” said chairman Andrew Edwards.
“He has undoubted quality and is another important signing who comes into what is an already very competitive squad."
Crowell, who counts Southampton, Wrexham, Northwich Victoria and Central Coast Mariners amongst his list of former clubs, made four Welsh Premier League appearances at the start of last season before his sudden departure and is expected to feature against Swansea City on the weekend.
