Now, now Pete. I'll get the law onto you.
Actually for once there was a pretty good thought for the day on BBC R4 this morning...... all about mincing, in reference to the Terry court case.
And no, not that sort of mincing, but mincing of words and the art of how laws shape language, and in this case blasphemy.
Everyone now knows the mother's little helpers and the like getting round the 60's hawk eyed controllers, but not too long ago, even when blasphemy cases were being heard, people couldn't even utter certain words in a court of the ruling elite's summary justice..... especially blasphemous naughties. So enter mincing ... the art of inference and an early rhyming slang to avoid the then Pasoti hangman's noose.....
Cripes was Christ, bloody obviously our mother Mary, and god blind me, blimmey.
Bloody hell ! Back to basics eh.
