I'm always been quite interested in pre-modern religions (e.g. pagan religions). If you can ever get your hands on 'The Books of Shadows' adapted from the work of Gerald Gardner, it's a interesting read. A collection of spells and rituals, apparently passed down through generations of practicing 'witches'. How much of it is genuine is up for debate, I suspect Gardner may have made some of it up on the fly as an excuse for getting up to some kinkiness.

The first time I met my wife's aunt and we were introduced she asked if I believed in God. I said no and then spent the next 2 hours being 'talked to'! At the end she asked 'now do you believe in God'? I said no! She has never spoken to me again about religion so it was 2 hours well spent, I can tell you. I must add that at the time my feelings were still a little raw due to losing my mum some time before.
