"Plymouth's Charles Cross police station is one of UK's busiest" The legacy of fighting crime continues, even after both JonB and IanN's retirements.

It's all kicking off in St Neots-
Gridlock forces bus to reverse A bus full of schoolchildren had to reverse more than 400 metres after a road in St Neots became gridlocked yesterday morning. Traffic queued up for about 30 minutes after two cars double parked along Longsands Road shortly before 9am. A coach taking students to Longsands Academy was forced to reverse down the street as the chaos unfolded. Onlooker Andrew Hickson said: “Two cars had been double parked and blocked the whole road.”

Plymouth vet manager who stole £290,000 jailed for two years
How does anyone manage to steal that amount from a vet and get away with it without anyone noticing for so long?

I would do 2 years for that. Out on a tag after 12 months.
I wonder if that's why Ed did his sponsored walk really? I'm sure I put Help for Heroes on my cheque, but tippex is wonderful stuff

You obviously ain't a frequenter of Vet's, Gob.
I had a stand up fight with the senior partner at ours over charges, he was miffed I was just getting a prescription (£11.50) and then getting the meds online. He went quite red and told me he had to make £7.50 from everone coming through the door just to cover his overheads and my meds were coming from a guy in his garden shed. In fact they come from about the biggest practice in the Home Counties at half the price the locals are charging.
If the NHS charged what vets do we could solve all it's problems in a stroke...nobody would go.

At worse it's 145k per annum but hey, crime doesn't pay!
Nope, I don't visit the Vet all that often Charlie although some say I should! - Seems like a good little earner then, maybe I should get retrained.

Veterinary businesses are usually very profitable especially if you have an established business like this one was. This went on for five years, you think the directors would have smelt a rat.Now if they had had a GAS Board.....

Has there been widespread outrage about the non-functioning of the traffic lights by Plymouth High? I rest my case.

My other half was not happy with the situ SFD, she pointed it out to me at the start of the week stating that there would be an accident there fore shore. On Friday there was an accident and she was almost seething. It was all I could do to stop her marching up to Cameron on the Hoe yesterday and demanding an inquiry. I suggested that if she was so sure there was going to be an accident, then why didn't she stand there directing traffic. She wasn't angry with me, she just gave me a look that suggested she will urinate in my leftover Thai green curry that I was planning on taking to work for lunch tomorrow.

Nope I dont think there is,everybody's up on the Hoe.Traffic wardens are missing a trick or two, though. The number of cars now coming up North Road East and turning left into North Hill, rather than going straight across the main road,(NO LEFT TURNS clearly marked) is ridiculous. As the lights are not working drivers see it as carte blanche to make their own decisions as to which way to go.Mind you drivers do the same at Prince Rock(No left turns into Heles Terrace)so what the hell.

I wonder if the bloke in the picture told all his mates and family that he would be in the Herald about his rescue- only to find his head had been cut out of the picture!

Not a very nice storybut I think praise must go to the online editorial team in showing a picture of a taxi (in case herald online readers didn't know what a taxi looks like)-
