Thanks for asking Frank, and sorry for the late reply!
Well as you might have guessed.... Traffic has never been lighter. The 405 on friday, barely had a car on it as the deadline for closing approached. The rest of the freeway system was just as good.
Work was completed 18 hrs ahead of schedule and the 405 was back open about noon on Sunday.
I am sure things will be back to 'normal' at rush hour on monday morning. (9am here is 5pm in the UK)

The stretch that was closed is the stretch between the two freeways to the left of 'Beverly Hills'. It is one of the busiest and most prone to 'fender bender' parts of freeway in all America - due to the many on and off ramps in a short space slap bang in the middle of the 'westside'!
I live just a few miles north of where the work was done on the 'Mulholland' bridge, just north and east of the 405 - 101 interchange in the 'Valley'.
