I agree
That dog is Nipper in a painting by Barraud. The original version was of a dog listening to a cylinder rather than a disk. But when the precursor to HMV (Gramophone Company) said they wanted to use the image but only if he changed the image to one of their machines he agreed and was paid a lot of money to paint over. Their early symbol was of an angel writing - "The Recording Angel" and it was via this image that they eventually became known as 'His Master's Voice'. When discs were first produced they were single sided. The earliest one I own is approximately 1903, I think. Early disks were produced so that the sound was captured on the bottom of the groove - known as 'hill and dale'. Later electrical recordings used the sides of the groove. The convention of needles starting at the outside and moving towards the centre wasn't universally adopted. In fact the French company, Pathe, produced discs that started in the middle and moved out until quite late. I have one of those but, sadly, you need a special player to listen to it. There.... interesting? Certainly a lot more so than the crap on here today. |

| I have a 12" single of Destination Zululand by The Cramps that plays from the centre out.
I also have Metal Box by PIL. It is consists of 3x12" singles. 5 of the sides play at 45 rpm and one of them at 33 rpm.
Neither disc actually tells you this. |

| Just wanted to say that braidie Coles facebook wall is public and says lance Easton is a paedophile and gives out his address in Plymouth, maybe that's why he's getting hassled braidie? Now loads of people on here saw lances Twitter feed from the end of March where he's discussing raping a 13 yr old and filming it, along with all the racist shit, amid saw the shite Dane Bunney posts on his twitter. All the abuse he dishes out.
Do I think lance is a paedophile? No I think he's a silly little boy who thinks it's cool to put stuff like that on Twitter to impress people. Maybe now him and Dane will stop their shit and leave this site alone. Maybe not though. |

| Sir Lancey E is busy deleting his twitter feed as we speak, the worst post was from March 8th, where he tweeted his mates had raped a 13 yr old and filmed it, there's still some sick stuff on there but he's going through it now. I expect Bunney is doing likewise.

| The smallest disc I have is about 4 inches across. The largest is about 18 inches. I have at least a dozen versions of "Love's Old Sweet Song". But mainly I used to collect Music Hall and Jazz. Early recordings were actually achieved by a needle passing over a sheet of card covered with soot. Recordings that were at all like we would recognise - in the form of cylinders - began in the early 1890s. But when the technology was invented the first use was for offices as dictation machines. Ooops! I've just seen that this thread is called FAO Rickler. I seem to have gone off subject - unless of course Rickler is especially interested in this. I am. At least it is better than the crap on here otherwise, in my humble opinion. |

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, IJN and the others should be ashamed if its true, although if Bunny is involved, it would not be unlike him to stir this up to make it look that way. |

| Well anyone who wants to report Bunney and his mates for the content of their twitter accounts, it's bunneydane1981 and sirlanceye and Cerbs that's not posting someone's private details, their twitter accounts are open for the public to see. The comment on March 8th on sirlanceye's account is probably enough to get him arrested, not that the rest of it is much better, and Bunney's is almost as bad. The thing is with Bunney is that he's supposedly a respectable businessman and father. Lance Easton just looks like a stupid 14 year old. |

Braidie - You're back on this site on the understanding that you don't stir up any more trouble. If you want to discuss Argyle, that's fine. Anything else along the lines of what you were posting last night and your suspension may become permanent - Site Admin |
