Water's too cold for floating in yet Dan. Do call me Andrew.
It is very tiresome isn't it and in reality I can't see it changing now we have dropped so far. Brent wants the locals to help run the show, so there will always be position seeking, power bases and the inevitable corruption. One lot gets exposed and a new lot moves in. Same old. What we need is a rich dictator. Sod fan participation. How about Kagami? |

Wasn't he conned into buying shares on the back of a healthy balance sheet, due to the sale of the best side we'd had in decades ? |

Or Mandaric.Or Whelan.Or Majedski.Or Walker.Or etc.Or even a consortium to provide the necessary funding should we ever get to the same position reached in 2007 and countless other times in our history. Agree with Tring about the fan participation stuff, you'll find very few posts from me on the trust/gasboard subject because i've thought that the situation always had potential for politicking and, more importantly,to become a compliant mouthpiece for directors who would release information on a "would like you to know" basis.Put it this way, does anyone think that if a trust or gasboard was in place in 2006,disastrous decisions such as the purchase of the freehold or the sale of half a dozen of our best players would have been influenced? I doubt it somehow and can't really see that situation changing,no matter what the format of any "fans representation" is put in place. |

| Greenskin.Agree with that.Paul Stapleton "hoodwinked" the PASTD committee into parting with £300K and he would have done the same to the Trust/GAS Board in 2006 if they had been around.Stapleton and his fellow directors would have said that the purchase of the freehold was essential as it would act as collateral to borrow money for future growth. The Trust/GAS Board would have gone along with that.Similarly Stapleton and his board would have said that the club was getting into financial difficulties and needed to sell players for the club's economic survival and again the Trust/GAS Board would have gone along with it. |

And all for a bit of fame. Like kids let loose in a sweet shop. |
