Early days of course but some interesting results today which suggest that teams coming up may not be relegation fodder by any means.

Can't really see us getting much tomorrow

Owls 2 Pilgrims 1

Cissoko

Sheff Wed are stronger than last season but I really don't think we are. Still weak at the back and midfield is non-existent. After all our signings we're still at very best a poor mid-table League One side. Think we'll get bit of a spanking tomorrow which will pretty much set the scene for the season. It's not for nothing every single league prediction has us favourites for relegation.

Sheff Weds 5-0 Argo

4v1 (Hardie)

Think this is actually a really tough opener. Wednesday won't be the shambles they were last season. Remember they looked doomed at one point (3 points from the first 13 games), but Danny Rohl did a great job since then. He seems like potentially a great find as a coach and they have recruited well in the close season (unlike us) - got rid of lots of deadwood and brought in lots of players with solid Championship (or similar) level experience.

I'm often wrong about these things, but think they might be outside bets for the playoffs this season.

A win would be ideal start to the season after one of our main relegation rivals according to the bookmakers
Oxford united got off to a flyer and beat Norwich city 2-0
Be a hard game 2morw I don’t fancy us to win ..but got a feeling we won’t lose either ….1-1 draw

Can't see anything other than a 2 or 3 goal defeat as we will struggle playing a back 4 rather than 3 plus wing backs.

Hope WR isn't as inflexible about a back 4 as SS was about his daft fixation with inverted full backs or we could be down by Christmas

Was overly optimistic!

I didn't have high hopes, but that was below even my expectations. Was thinking of putting £50 on us getting relegated last week. Wish I'd done it now - feels like I missed out on some free money!

There were a lot of disturbing aspects of that performance, one of the most worrying was that none of the new signings looked remotely good enough for the championship. Ogbeta, Gyabi, the big lad up front all looked way off the standard-the only one who looked to have much was Cissoko in the first half but even he gave the ball away in good situations at times, our players could do a lot worse than to see how easy Bannon made the game look by the simple virtues of good first touch and accurate passing. Hallett was there today and he must realise that if money is coming in from the sale of Cooper then all of it must, repeat must,be invested in the team. In common with most fans, i've no particular wish for Argyle to be humiliated in this way on a frequent basis and couldn't really care less about any box ticking Brickfields exercise-had enough of jam tomorrow over the past 60 years, let's see some jam on the pitch just for a fecking change. Amateurish mis spellings of players names didn't help the overall impression of a shambles of a club either.

The head 'coach' and all his signings are shit. Absolute garbage. Nowhere near good enough for the championship and probably not even L2. This is all on Hallett and Dewsnip again. To stay up we would need to sack Rooney now and give the new manager a humongous budget in January. But that's not going to happen. So it will be a case of regrouping back in L1 hopefully under a new and proper owner.

Hallett out now!
Rooney out now!

Pretty awful start to the season
Ogbeta was simply astonishingly bad

There wasn't any plus points. Hazard flapping all game. (Issaka again showed some promise)
Whittakers going nowhere on that performance
Shameful
