Not a bad interview at all, said the right things and liked the bit about players playing with freedom. Now the work really starts of course, like any other manager he'll need backing from the board-be nice if there was a couple of million pound plus imports before the start of the season. According to one source, he's trying to get Cooper to sign a new contract, a course of action which i absolutely agree with-top keepers are worth as much as 20 goals strikers imho and Cooper if he stays fit is in that category. Starting to actually look forward now, maybe foolish optimism but what the hell.

Watched it earlier. Said all the right things etc. But I really can't get past his disastrous spell at Birmingham and how much their fans blame him 100% for their demise, even though he was sacked way back in January. Hoping against hope that we get more the Derby County Rooney and not the Brum Rooney, although even his time at Pride Park was not that spectacular. Still waiting to hear why hallett thought this was a good appointment.

i've never been someone who believes these new manager interviews as anything less than a PR Stunt where the answers are rehearsed and the questions known before hand much like those q and a's. Actions always speak louder than words and Rooney has a long way to go with his actions before i'll ever be happy with this appointment.

Polar opposite to the disastrous Foster interview, said all the right things and looked genuinely happy to be here.

Its all we can judge him on for now but that's a cracking start
